Northen Ireland Northern Ireland is a part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It is situated in the northeast of the island of Ireland .

One of the main Symbols of the country are: the flag, emblem and the shamrock. National flag of Northern Ireland consists of the St. George Cross inside which a white six-pointed star and a red hand. Above the star is a crown. Государственный флаг Северной Ирландии состоит из георгиевского креста, внутри которого расположены белая шестиконечная звезда и красная кисть руки. Cities and towns Belfast is the capital of the country since 1921 . It is the city –port. Its population is about 579.000 .

Sightseeings. Northern Ireland has developed its own culture. There are lots of theatres and cinemas in the country. There are two national museums: the Ulster Museum in Belfast, which houses a collection of Irish antiquities and the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum. The Ulster Symphony Orchestra is among the leading orchestras of Britain. Северная Ирландия выработала свою собственную культуру. В стране много театров и кинотеатров. Belfast Castle Belfast Castle Antrim Road, Belfast was built in the 1870s. Castle is located on Cave Hill and dominates the bay of Belfast. Here you can visit the beautiful gardens, restaurants, antique shops and Local History Centre, the exhibition which tells the story of the castle and its surroundings.

Giant Causeway The area of about 40,000 basalt columns formed by an ancient volcanic eruption. Located on the North East Northern Ireland 3 km to the North from the town of Bushmills. Most of the columns are hexagonal, some four, five, seven, and eight corners. The highest column height of about 12 m.

Derry as known as Londonderry, this is where Amelia Earhart landed, the first woman pilot, who has flown across the Atlantic Ocean in  1932.

In city Hillsborough there is an ancient fort (Hillsborough Fort) and Hillsborough castle.

Famous people Kenneth Branagh is an actor. George Ivan Morrison is a singer.

Sir Van Morrison (born Van Morrison, George Ivan Morrison, born George Ivan Morrison,August 31, 1945) - Northern Irish singer-songwriter, known for its unique growling style of performance and folk music (including folk Ulster motifs) with American styles - blues, soul, jazz and gospel. Talented multinstrumentalist, who plays guitar, keyboards, drums, saxophone and harmonica. To indicate his work musicologists invented a special term - Celtic soul. Knight Bachelor of the Order of the British Empire (1996). Morrison was born in 1945 in Belfast, in the singers family. His father, being partial to American jazz and blues, collected a large collection of records from across the ocean. Instead of going to school, the boy all day listening to these records.

The most famous food there are: Кухня Северной Ирландии изысканностью не отличается. Издавна основными продуктами питания в регионе были картофель и хлеб, а также мясо, молочные продукты и морепродукты - в общем, все, чем богаты плодородная земля и водоемы этих мест. Фарлс (farls)-лепешки, которые пекут из пшеничной муки с добавлением геркулеса в форме четвертинки круга (так как в переводе это слово означает одна четвертая).

Ирландское рагу (ирл  stobhach / stobhach Gaelach,англ . Irish stew) — национальное блюдо ирландской кухни . Является традиционным и одним из самых популярных в стране. В состав классического рагу  входят баранина, картофель, лук , а также петрушка и  тмин.

Брам брак (bram brack) фруктовый хлеб, напоминающий валлийский бара брит (bara brith), подают к чаю с маслом.

Nature: animals and plants. The rolling hills surround the central lowlands. Loch Ness is the largest lake in the British Isles is situated there. Холмистые возвышенности окружают центральные низменности. Там расположено озеро Лох-Несс, крупнейшее озеро на Британских островах.

Climate Climate of Northern Ireland is mild with warm winters and cool summers. Климат Северной Ирландии умеренный, с мягкой зимой и прохладным летом.

Nature There are 26 kinds of mammals in N.R.: a red fox, hedgehogs, white hares, squirrels, deer, wild cats , and others ,a dragonfly, only one kind of lizards, 400 kinds of birds, some kinds of fish,10 kinds of bats.

National clothes  Women wear short bright dress decorated with colorful embroidery. Men have two equal clothing for dancing. It may be just a suit, and always with a tie in the color of their dance school, for example, black and green. Both men and women can wear the vest over dresses or shirts. The costumes of the dancers, usually decorated in green, red and saffron colours. Suits dancers are less bright. Irish – Celtic of the modern representatives of the group recently adopted the wearing of the kilt.

Irish national suit is an orange kilt, a long jacket, a shirt without a collar and a beret.
