The exhibit “Izba”

The museum exposition shows the interior of “izba” (a peasant’s hut).

Our ancestors used to keep their clothes in trunks. The more prosperous the family were the more trunks they had.

The spinning-wheel is from Pachelma district.

The Exhibit “Babiy Koot”

The place near the stove is the housewife’s working place. It was called “Babiy Koot”.

In the middle of the hut ceiling there was a joist. A cradle with a bed curtain was hung on it.

The ancient things illustrating the way of life and culture of our ancestors have been brought by school students from the village Cherkasskoye Pachelma district.

The Exhibit “National Clothes”

The clothes of our ancestors lived the the village Krasnaya Dubrava

The folk costumes for the school Russian song ensemble have been sewn by our masters.

The Exhibit “Students’ Works”

Pottery, metal work, embroidery and lace-making, making wooden and clay toys have been practiced in Russia for ages

Some places in Russia are famous for the style of decorative painting invented by their residents.

These lace napkins, toys and embroideries have been made by some students of our school .

Lessons at the Museum The Russian Culture lessons held in the museum are devoted to traditional Russian holidays, such as Easter and Christmas.

The Museum Guests Our museum has been visited by many people from Penza region, Moscow , Vologda , Maryland (the USA).
