My favourite place: Peterghof

Peterghof I’d like to say a few words about my favourite place. It’s Peterghof. To start with, Peterghof is a suburb of Saint-Petersburg. You can go there by bus, by train or by boat (Peterghof is situated on the coast of the Gulf of Finland).

Fountains There are lots of beautiful fountains as ”Oaken”, “Neptune”, “Mezheumny”, “Adam and Eve”. The most famous fountain in Peterghof is “Samson rending the lion’s jaws”. You can see it in the photo.

Crackers There are also some different fountains which are called “crackers”. They’re disguised fountains-attractions where you can become wet!

Palaces There are lots of palaces, too. They are: Catherine’s Corps, Marly palace and Montplaisir. Montplaisir on the French language means “my pleasure”. This palace is the residence of Peter I. Now it’s the museum.

Visiting time You can visit the museums from ten o’clock in the morning till five o’clock in the afternoon. The corps is closed in winter.
