Условные предложения Сложноподчиненные условные предложения состоят из двух частей: главного предложения и придаточного предложения условия. Придаточное предложение выражает условие совершения действия, главное –следствие, вытекающее из этого условия. В английском языке можно выделить три основных типа условных предложений.

Условные предложения первого типа Выражают реальные, осуществимые условия, обычно относящиеся к настоящему или будущему времени. You may have the book if you like it. If you stay in after classes, I will help you В условных предложениях первого типа, относящихся к будущему, в придаточном предложении после союза if глагол стоит в Present Simple, а в главном предложении – во Future Simple или в повелительном наклонении.

Chains of events: Example: If I go to London, I’ll visit the Tower. If I visit the Tower, I’ll see the ravens there. If I see the ravens there, I’ll take their pictures. If I take their pictures, I’ll show them to my friends. If I show them to my friends…. If a black cat crosses your path….

Условные предложения второго типа выражают маловероятные и нереальные условия, относящиеся к настоящему или будущему времени If we opened more national parks, we would save wild animals. В условных предложениях второго типа в придаточном предложении употребляется Past Simple,а в главном предложении – сочетание would (should) c первой основной формой смыслового глагола Примечание: Глагол to be в придаточном предложении употребляется в форме were If I were you (на вашем месте), I would call her right now

Условные предложения третьего типа Выражают условия, не реализованные в прошлом и, следовательно, совершенно невыполнимые If people hadn’t thrown waste in the water, our seas would have been cleaner. Если бы люди (тогда) не сбрасывали отходы в воду, наши моря были бы чище. В условных предложениях третьего типа в придаточном предложении употребляется Past Perfect, a в главном предложении - would/could have с третьей формой смыслового глагола.
