Present Perfect continuous tense (настоящее совершенное продолженное время) -for How long have you been waiting for them? I have been waiting for them for 2 hours. Since Since when have you been waiting for them? I have been waiting for them since 3 o’clock. Но: I have known him for 5 years.

Сравните: I am here. Present Simple I have been here for 2 hours (since 5 o’clock). Present Perfect Simple I have been sitting here for 2 hours. Present Perfect Continuous

Present Perfect and Past Simple Мы используем Past Simple, сообщая о событиях или действиях в прошлом, которые не имеют связи с настоящим: - Dinosaurs died many millions of years ago. Мы используем Past Simple, сообщая о прошедших событиях, произошедших в определенное, обозначенное время: - I bought this mobile phone last January/yesterday/in June/three days ago. Мы используем Present Perfect simple или Continuous, сообщая о событиях, которые имеют связь с настоящим: - I’ve read this book (so now I know what it is about). - I’ve been watching a lot of French films recently (so now I know more about them).
