Christmas is celebrated on the 25th December. People decorate a Christmas tree with toys, balls and lights. They send X- mas cards to each other. At night father X-mas comes. Presents for children are under the X-mas tree and in their stockings.

New Years Day is the first day of the year, in the Gregorian calendar. At 12 o‘clock they drink a toast to the New Year and congratulate each other. Not all English people celebrate New Year. But some people have a New Year party. Sometimes guests come to them.

When and what is April Fool’s Day? April Fool’s Day is on April 1st. It‘s the custom in the UK to play a trick or a joke on someone on this day. If the person falls for the joke then they are called an ‘April Fool’. In fact it’s only half a day because April Fool’s Day finishes at midday. No more jokes after lunchtime, please!

In March we have a holiday for English women Mother‘s day. People in the family try to help Mother in any way they can. People visit their mothers and give them gifts. they celebrate this holiday exactly three weeks before Easter The next Mothers Day in the UK will be: Sunday, 26 March 2017

Skyline Auckland Waterfront On the 31st October we have Halloween. Children put on funny clothes. They go from hause to house and say Trick or treat. People give them sweets, fruits, cakes, cookies People dress as witches, ghosts.

In June there is Father’s Day. Fathers Day is held on the third Sunday of June in the United Kingdom On this day fathers get gift cards and a lot of attention from their children.

We love our holidays – it is a great fun!
