My native land

My native land is the south-eastern part of the Republic of Tatarstan .

First settlements appeared in this territory in the 18-19 centuries. Later this territory was covered with settler of different nationalities: TATAR RUSSIAN MORDVIN

Today there is Almetyevsk region here. Almetyevsk is wellknown not only in Russia, but in neighboring and distant foreign countries. Almetyevsk is called a capital of Tatarstan oil fielders. Not far from Almetyevsk there is my native village Tichonovka.

The first name was «Tichaja Jerickly». The word «Jerickly» means the deep strait from the river to the lake or the unflowing water arm. Tichonovka was founded in 1785 .At that time the nature was very beautiful , the village was surrounded by forests and picturesque hills.

My village is settled down on the bank of the most beautiful Stepnoi Zay river.

But nowdays the nature is very beautiful , and I am very proud of my village. My village is not large. There are about 2000 people who live here. Most of them live in comfortable houses. There are no theatres, multistoried houses and parks , but I liked it. Here live my parents.

There is not a great number of historical landmarks here, but we have some places of interests. Names of the streets are connected with the history. The first famous street is called Majakovsky- street

In 1924 there were 106 court yards with 640 people .During the October revolution the inhabitants of Tichonovka took part in this event. In December 1929 founded the collective farm “KrasnyiPachar”. The first chairman of the collective farm was Smolkin.V.V

The peaceful life was interrupted by the Second World war in 1939. Great Patriotic war is a never-to-be forgotten page in the history of our country. In the difficult times of the war many people from our region went to the battlefields and many of them gave their lives for the sake of the freedom. In my village there are some places, connected with these great events: there is a monument ,built in honor of the soldiers,who died in the Great Patriotic War.

There is a museum in my school,where we can get to know the hero of mordvin people Devjatayev.

He was Hero of the Soviet Union and he was awarded with golden star of Hero of the Soviet Union.

In this museum we can see a collection of photographs of old and present-day Tichonovka . There is also the ethnographic fund ,that includesmordvin clothes and domestic life.

Tichonovka is a quite modern settlement.People of different nationalities live there. Tichonovka is multicultural. There is a new building of a church.People from other nearest settlements come to our church. Representatives of different religious groups are tolerant to each other In my village.

In 1999 was built my school. It is three-storeyed and very beautiful. Our school has a sport ground, where children can play football,ice hockey in winter,pupils can attend different circles in our school. There is also a medical ambulatory(FAP),one shop, and the inhabitants of our village have no need to go shopping to Almetyevsk every day. We can see two- storeyed houses here.

I like my native village Tichonovka very much.I want it always to be beautiful and clean.My village is getting nicer and larger day by day and I am proud of it
