В написании удваивается конечная согласная буква, если односложное прилагательное оканчивается на одну согласную с предшествующим кратким гласным звуком: hot- hotter- the hottest   big - bigger – the biggest fat – fatter- the fattest

Remember ! sunny – sunnier – the sunniest happy – happier – the happiest hungry – hungrier – the hungriest dirty – dirtier – the dirtiest

Конечная гласная е опускается перед фиксами -еr, -est: large - larger – the largest white - whiter – the whitest nice – nicer -the nicest wide – wider – the widest late – later – the latest
