Moscow Moscow is the capital of Russia. The city is a major political, economic, cultural, scientific, religious, financial, educational, and transportation centre of Russia and the continent. Moscow is the most populous city in Europe, and the sixth largest city in the world. Its population, according to the preliminary results of the 2010 census, is 11,514,330. Its wonderful places of interest are visited by a lot of people every day.
