The rights of a child

Convention on the Rights of the Child To protect children’s rights the United Nations Organization has worked out an international agreement called UN Convention on the Rights of the Child . It gives you different rights.

Convention on the Rights of the Child The United Nations  Convention on the Rights of the Child (commonly abbreviated as the CRC, CROC, or UNCRC) is a human rights treaty which sets out the civil, political, economic, social, health and cultural rights of children.

Convention on the Rights of the Child The Convention deals with the child-specific needs and rights.  It requires that states act in the best interests of the child.

All children have the right to name and nationality at birth. Article 12. Children have the right to express their views. Article 15. Children have the right to meet other people. Article 16. A r t i с 1 e 2. All children have the right to non discrimination. All children should have the rights whatever their race, sex, religion, language, disability, opinion or family background.

A r t i с 1 e 6. Children have the right to life Children have the right to live in good conditions: a comfortable place for living, a warm bed, enough food, drinkable water etc.

A r t i с 1 e 7. All children have the right to name and nationality at birth. All children must get a name when they are born and become a citizen of a particular country.

Article 12. Children have the right to express their views. Children can say what they think. What they say must be listened to carefully. Their thoughts should be taken into account by adults.

Article 15. Children have the right to meet other people. Children can join different organizations, take part in meetings, peaceful demonstrations which don’t affect other people’s rights.

Article 16. Children have the right to privacy Nobody can open children’s letters and listen to their phone calls.

Article 17. Children have the right to information. Children get information especially that would make their life better.

Articles 19, 32. Children have the right to protection. The Government should protect children from harm, cruelty, abuse and dangerous drugs, fro exploitation and dangerous work which can do much harm to their health or interfere with their education.

Article 23. Disabled children have the right to take a full and active part in everyday life. Children with disabilities must be helped to be as independent as possible.

Article 24. Children have the right to health and health care. The Government must give all children good medical care and try to reduce the number of deaths in childhood.

Articles 28,29. Children have the right to education and development. Children should have the best chance to develop their abilities. Every child can go to school. Different kinds of secondary schools should be available for children.

Article 31. Children have the right to leisure. Every child should have a chance to rest, to play and have fun.
