Environmental Problems


Тема: Проблемы окружающей среды.
Цели:

  1. Развивающая: - развитие объема памяти, развитие способности к логическому изложению содержания, развитие умения вести беседу по заданной ситуации.

  2. Воспитательная: - развитие обеспокоенности ситуацией, формирование ответственного отношения к природе, воспитание правильного экологического поведения.

  3. Обучающая: совершенствование навыков монологической речи, совершенствование навыков говорения с опорой на увиденное, совершенствование грамматических навыков и навыков аудирования.

Оборудование:

компьютер, проектор, бейджик, таблички, учебник, презентация, текстовое письмо.

План урока:

  1. Организационный момент

  2. Введение в речевую среду. Совершенствование навыков говорения.

  3. Развитие грамматических навыков на основе употребления активных и пассивных конструкций.
    1)Динамическая пауза.

  4. Развитие монологического высказывания на основе аудирования.

  5. Активизация навыков письма при работу в группах.

  6. Активизация монологического высказывания на основе наглядного материала.

  7. Итоги

Ход урока:

"To hurt the Earth is to hurt yourself".
I. Good morning girls! Today we`ll continue speaking about our environment.
But first let us train our tongues (a proverb).

You know that people all over the world are worried about our environment.

Children do you know what the main environmental problems are? - the pollution.

II. What are the results of our influence on the environment?

  • We pollute the air. - We change the climate

  • We leave a fire. - We destroy the forest.

  • We throw away plastic bottles. - We damage nature.

  • We leave litter in the forests. - We hurt animals
    We pour industrial and other wastes -We kill fish and reptiles
    We throw litter in the rivers and seas. - We cause water pollution.

  • We cut down trees. - We disturb birds

III. Can you say the same, but using Passive constructions?
Air and water are polluted- will you ask some guestions?

It is a global problem . How should people solve these problems? Do you remember the 3 rules.

  • reduce? (уменьшать)

  • reuse? (использовать заново)

  • recycle? (перерабатывать)

  • What should or must we reduce?

  • We can reduce using electricity.

  • We can reduce using water.

  • We must recycle cartons.

  • We must reuse glass bottles.

  • We can recycle newspapers.

  • We must recycle paper.

  • We can recycle plastic containers.

All these help to reduce pollution, and not to damage the nature Greenpeace (3)

  • It is an international environmental organization, started in the 1960s in Canada. It has a policy of non - violent direct actions. Greenpeace message is "When the last tree is cut down and the last fish killed, the last river poisoned, then you will see that you can't eat money." Friends of the Earth

I am a member of British Parliament and you are members of Green Peace organization.

I'm making a report in the Parliament. I'm speaking about the problems of water pollution. Listen to me and say if you agree or disagree.

1. The Pacific Ocean doesn't suffer from nuclear pollution. (I disagree, the Pacific Ocean especially has suffered from the nuclear pollution because French government tests nuclear weapon there)

2. Many seas are not used for dumping waste. (I disagree, many seas are used for dumping industrial and nuclear waste)

3. So dumping the waste poisons and kills animals. (I agree, this poisons and kills animals)

4. But Britain doesn't dump waste into the sea. (I disagree, Britain alone dumps 250.000 tons of industrial waste straight into the North Sea)

5. So there is no ocean or sea which is not used as a dump. (I agree, there is no ocean or sea which is not used as a dump)

6. But rivers and lakes are not poisoned. (I disagree, many rivers and lakes are poisoned too. Fish and reptiles can't live in them there is not enough oxygen in the water)

7. Factories and plants don't produce a lot of waste. (I disagree, factories and plants produce a lot of waste and pour it into the rivers. So they poison the water)

8. But factories use clean water. (I agree, factories use clean water)

9. And after the water is used it doesn't become poison. (I disagree, after the water is used it becomes poison which goes back into the rivers, lakes and seas)


V. Активизация навыков письма.

Yes, yes I agree, sometimes I wasn't right. I see it is a very serious problem. I'm going to send a letter to the United Nations Organization. Картинка ООН. But I have some problems with my computer and some words are missing. Please, help me to complete my letter.

Dear Chairman,

We are the members of the international Green Peace Organization and we are protesting against water pollution all over the world. Please pay attention to the following facts:

 Unfortunately there is no ocean or sea which is not used as _________.

VI. Where can animals, birds, forests, lakes survive? (5)

Do you know about national parks in Russia?

Now there are 23 national parks and 84 nature reserves in Russia. National parks protect the countryside and allow people to enjoy plants, animals and birds. Nature reserves protect plants, animals and birds. But people are not allowed to visit nature reserves.

  • Valday is a national park

  • Losiny Ostrov is a national park, Barguzinsky-- nature reserve.

The Lake District is the largest national park in Britain. It is one of the most beautiful, attractive and popular places in Britain. A lot of tourists come there to go boating, cycle, fish and just to walk.
