Урок 16. Теория.

Разделительный вопрос</<font color="#000000"> - вопрос «уточняющего» характера, когда говорящий ждет подтверждения или опровержения высказанного предположения. Этот вопрос строится как сочетание повествовательного (содержащего утверждение или отрицание) предложения и краткого общего вопроса, состоящего из сказуемого и местоимения

  • You like coffee, don't you? - Ты любишь кофе, не так ли?

  • Yes, I do.-Да. No, I don't. - Нет.

При этом, как правило, если в первой части разделительного вопроса стоит утверждение, то во второй - отрицание. И наоборот: если в первой части содержится отрицание, то во второй, как правило, - утверждение

  • You don't like coffee, do you? - Ты ведь не любишь кофе, не так ли?

NB!

  • а) В отличие от русского языка, утвердительный ответ на подобный вопрос всегда содержит слово yes; отрицательный - nо:

  • Вы ведь не любите кофе, не так ли? Нет, люблю. - Yes, I do. (Ну) да, не люблю. - No, I don't.

б) Если в главной и краткой части разделительного вопроса содержится одновременно или утверждение или отрицание, то вопрос приобретает иронический оттенок:

You are clever, are you? - Ты что, глупый, что ли?

или является способом выражения удивления:

So Susannah and Guy finally got married, did they? - И что, Сюзанна и Гай поженились в конце концов?
