Тема урока: «Is it necessary to read books nowadays?».
Цель урока: совершенствование монологических навыков по теме «Нужно ли читать книги в наше время».
Задачи урока:
обучающая - развитие речевых умений и навыков; тренировка лексических навыков; совершенствовать умение читать текст с детальным пониманием.
развивающая - развитие творческих способностей учащихся;
воспитательная - формировать культуру чтения, интерес и любовь учащихся к литературе и чтению.
Языковой материал:
1)Текст учебника;
2)Мультимедийная презентация.
Оснащение урока: книга для учащихся УМК Enjoy English 8 класс.
Ход урока

Приветствие. Речевая подготовка.
Учитель: Good morning! Sit down, please. I'm glad to see you!
Ученики: Good morning! We are glad to see you, too.
Учитель:Today we start our lesson with a short poem. When we read it, we will know the theme of our lesson today. Look at the screen and follow me.
На экране появляется короткое стихотворение.
At night when sunshine goes away,
And it's too dark for me to play,
I like to lie in bed, and look
For new adventures in my book.
Ученики читают за учителем по строчке стихотворения, затем читают отдельно по одному и последний раз читают все вместе. Затем учитель спрашивает: «Who can tell me, what are we going to talk about?
Ученики: We are going to talk about books.

Речевая разминка.
Учитель: You are right. And if we are going to talk about books, answer my questions, please.
- Do you like to read books?
-What do you like to read more: books or magazines?
-What did you like to read in your childhood?
-How do you think, it is necessary to read books nowadays?
-Does reading make children smarter?
Учитель задает вопросы, касающиеся чтения книг, ученики отвечают по очереди.

Работа с текстом и презентацией.
Учитель: Unfortunately, nowadays people don't read so much as before and today we are going to consider different opinions of teenagers about their attitude to reading books. Open your books on p.75 ex.63.
Here you can see 3 different opinions. The pupils on the first row read Pamela's opinion, ones on the second row read Andy's opinion and the pupils on the third row read Margaret's opinion. Your task is to read the text, understand it and to fill the table in your exercise books. You should use the phrases on the screen. You have 10 minutes.
Учитель предлагает детям познакомиться с мнениями троих подростков, выражающих свое отношение к книгам. Первый ряд читает мнение первого подростка, второй ряд второго и третий ряд последнего. В процессе чтения, ученики заполняют таблицу. Вся информация дана в тексте. На задание дается 10 минут.
Учитель: Time is over. Let's check that exercise.
Ученики устно обсуждают.
Учитель: Well, we have discussed 3 different opinions and do you think teenagers like to read books nowadays? What attracts them in books?
Ученики: We think that many teenagers are keen on reading books and new technologies such as CD books attract them.
Учитель: Very good. We learned opinions of 3 teenagers. But, what about you? Share your opinion, using this table, look through it. I give you 1 minute.
Учитель интересуется мнением учеников и просит их устно высказать свое мнение по поводу чтения книг.
Ученики устно отвечают.

</ Учитель: Very well. We worked a lot and our eyes get tired. Let's give them to rest.

Look up, look down
Look around.
Look at your nose
Look at that rose
Close your eyes
Open, wink and smile.
Your eyes are happy again.

Well we've learned the opinions of 3 teenagers and your opinions. Now I propose you to look at the screen again. Here you can see some old proverbs about reading books. I want you to read them and translate.
"A book is like a garden carried in the pocket."
"Choose a book as you choose a friend"
"There is no friend so faithful as а good book" (словонадоскуилирядомнаслайд)
"Wear the old coat but buy а new book"
"Reading is a discount ticket to everywhere."
На экране выводятся древние поговорки о чтении книг. Задача учеников прочитать, перевести и понять смысл.
Учитель: Good. What do you think are these proverbs actual today? What proverb is closer to you? Which of them shows your attitude to reading?
And could you tell me is it necessary to read nowadays?
