Тема урока: English - a language of the world

Цель урока: актуализация знаний по теме «Английский язык - язык мира».

Задачи урока:

- актуализировать материал по теме «Иностранные языки»;

- развивать умения в устной речи;

- развивать умения аудирования;

-изучение грамматического материала, фразовые глаголы,

- развивать общекультурные умения при систематизации и обобщении материала.

Основная идея урока: английский язык - язык мирового общения

Оборудование: учебник, доска, флаги англоговорящих стран, магнитофон раздаточный материал.

Good morning children.

How are you today?

And I'm fine too. Are you ready for the lesson? Now I see that everybody is ready for the lesson and we can start our lesson.

Our lesson today is devoted as usually to the English language but we'll not only speak English, we'll speak about English.

2. Речевая зарядка

Will you read the words of some unknown author? Do you understand it? Can you explain what language is this saying about? Do you agree that English has really conquered the world?

English is an official language in some countries. Try to guess what country I will describe.

1) It's one of the most powerful and advanced countries in the world. It is washed by the Atlantic Ocean in the East and by the Pacific Ocean in the West. What is it?

2) It is the second largest country in the world. There are two official languages in this country English and French.

3) This country is an island state. It's not very big, but it's very beautiful. There are a lot of places of interest.

4) It's a small and quiet country in the Pacific Ocean. The official languages are English and Maori. This country is sometimes called "The World's Biggest Farm"

5) This country occupies a whole continent. It has strange animals and plants. It's very far from our country. Sometimes this country is called "The Lucky country"

Now imagine that your little brother or sister does not want to study English at primary school. You must explain to him that learning English is very interesting and can be fun. Tell him about different ways to learn English at school and outside school.

I'll divide you into groups; each group should make at least 5 statements to prove that study English is interesting, important and necessary. You have 4 minutes and then we will check you.

Your time is over. Please follow your classmates not to repeat one thought several times.

You know that use of phrasal verbs is a speciality and rather important part of the English language. But first of all, what is a phrasal verb?).

Today we will learn some new phrasal verbs with the verb to get. Open your books, page 42. Please read the phrasal verbs and examples.

Today we have discussed such an event as the language. We have come to the conclusion that it is rather important to know a foreign language. Each person has his own aims and reasons. So we have realized that studying a language is interesting and can be fun.
