-Good morning, dear children!

-I'm glad to see you. Take your sits, please.

- Who is on duty today?

- What date is it today?

- Nice, look at the board and you will see what we shall do today:

• do a phonetic exercise

• revise the use of 'can' and 'must'

• learn one more modal verb 'should'

• form negative sentences with 'should'

• make up questions with 'should'

• go on working on the topic'School'

• learn proverbs about friends in English, Russian, Bashkir languages

• learn our shool rules

• do listening-comprehention

I see your English is perfect and you are ready to practice our grammar.

- For today you know two modal verbs what are they?

P1: We know 'can' and 'must'

T: Right you are. When do we usually them?

P2: 'can' - могу, умею; 'must' -должен, обязан. Это самостоятельные глаголы, они не нуждаются в помощниках.

T: Look at the board there are two sentences with modal verbs you are to make them negative and make up questions.

1. My sister can speak English.

2. We must pay taxes.

T: Well done! I think that it won't be difficult for you to learn the next modal verb 'should'.

e.g. We should do homework.

T: To make questions we with the verb 'should' we usually:

T: Now, let's practice general questions. Look at the board and say what the people ask about?

T: Very good! Let's remember to what topic our unit is devoted?

P1: This unit is devoted to "School".

T: Absolutely right! I think that all of you will agree that we can't imagine our life at school without friends and learning.

So, today as I have said at the beginning of our lesson we'll learn some proverbs about friends and learning in English and more than that we'll try to find their Russian and Bashkir equivalents. Have a look at the board, please.

1. A friend in need is a friend indeed.

- Друзья познаются в беде.

- Дуҫтың дуҫ икәне бәлә килгәндә беленә.

1. A friend in court is better than a penny in purse.

- Не имей сто рублей, а имей сто друзей.

- Ил өҫтөндә илле дуҫың булһын.

-Йөҙ һум аксаң булғансы, йөҙ дуҫың булһын.

2.A man is known by the company he keeps.

- Скажи мне кто твой друг, и я скажу тебе, кто ты.

- Кем арбаһына ултырһаң, шуның йырын йырларһың.

4.Live and learn. Live a century, learn a century.

- Век живи, век учись.

-Ғүмер буйы йәшә, ғүмер буйы өйрән.

Perfect isn't it to know the proverbs in three languages? I think it is!

T: Now, we shall do some listening tasks. You have your cards where you should make your answers after my reading.

Listening-Comprehention

1. I have a lot of friends because I really think that it is better to have a friend in court than a penny in purse. We, together with my friends spend all our free time discussing films, film stars, help each other to do our homeworks. Once my best friend has a problem and she doesn't want to clean the room and everything was dirty, she was ill-looked and of course I decided to help her as we know a friend in need is a friend indeed.

2. Mother came home from work. She was so tired as she worked a lot while her daughter was sitting at home and doing nothing, she didn't even washed the dishes after the breakfast. When mother entered the living room she was apset as everything was in a mess and the room was dirty.

3. An apple a day keeps the doctor away as the proverb goes. There are a lot of different vitamins in fruit and vegetables. But when we work a lot or read we usually have a headache at the end of the day and what should we do?

T: Let's have a look at the board and check your work.

What picture is devoted to the first (second, third) speaker?

T: That will do for listening and know let's remember the rules of our school.

We know that while we are at school we should follow the rules.

Look at the board, there is a list of the rules, your task is to rewrite them using 'must'\ 'mustn't': 'should'\shouldn't

• Be polite.

• Say hello when we see a teacher.

• Come to school on time.

• Stand up when a teacher comes into the class.

• Wear our school uniform.

• Eat or drink at the lesson.

• Run in the corridors.

• Use mobile phones during the lessons.

• Talk to each other at the lesson.

T: Well, our time is over. I think we've done all the tasks and you've got a lot of interesting information from our lesson. I liked your work at the lesson. Your marks are ... .
