Конспект урока по теме: Family and friends? No problem!

9 класс

Цель урока: Развитие навыков письменной речи.

Задачи урока:

практическая: активизировать ранее изученную лексику по теме "My relationship with parents and friends"; развивать навык написания письма личного характера

образовательная: Формировать знания о культуре, языке, реалиях страны изучаемого языка.

развивающая: развитие языковой догадки, Развивать языковое (абстрактное) мышление учащихся. Развивать учащихся интеллектуально. Способствовать развитию личности учащихся.

воспитательная: развивать положительную мотивацию к дальнейшему изучению английского языка; воспитание уважительного отношения к семье, родственникам, друзьям; воспитать уважение к культуре другой страны.

Ход урока:

  1. Good morning, pupils. Glad to meet you, let's start our lesson. Today at the lesson we are going to speak about relations between friends and relatives. Look at the blackboard. Here you can see the word

Let's speak about SUPPORT.


1. Answer my questions please.

  1. People need someone's support, don't they?

  2. Is parents' support important for you?

  3. Do you always get support from your friends?

  4. Who usually supports you?

  5. Do you always support your friends and relatives?

I see everyone needs support and gets it from his friends and relatives.

2. And now make up a list of words using these letters. Start the words with them.

3. Make up the sentences with these words to describe your friends or family, your relations.

II. And now let's work in groups.

The first group reflects the idea that it's safer to rely on family. Make up a cluster using words and word-combinations. And your group works with the disc.( упр 1) Look through the words and than match words and definitions. Then you'll change.

Now let's change.

Your group has to prove the idea that friends are everything to you.

We've discussed the role of friends and family in our life and now make up short poems called cinquain (синкейн).

The modern cinquain is based on a word count of words of a certain type.

line 1 - one word (noun) a title or name of the subject
line 2 - two words (adjectives) describing the title
line 3 - three words (verbs) describing an action related to the title
line 4 - four words describing a feeling about the titlem, a complete sentence
line 5 - one word referring back to the title of the poem


The first group creates a poem about friends and the second group creates a poem about family.

I see you've got close families and true friends. You speak about life with your friends, share secrets and discuss different problems. And now try to forget about all the problems and relax

(Quiet music)

Sit comfortably. Close your eyes.

Breathe in. Breathe out.

Let's pretend it's summer. You are lying on a sandy beach. The weather is fine. The light wind is blowing from the sea. The birds are singing. You have no troubles. No serious problems. You are quiet. Your brain relaxes. Your body is warm... you are relaxing. (Pause)

Your troubles float away.

You love your relatives, your school, your friends. They love you too.

You are full of energy. You are active and strong. You are ready to work.

Open your eyes.


Some people have got pen-friends. Have you got a pen-friend? Would you like to have a pen-friend? Do you like to write letters?

  1. Today we'll continue studying how to write personal letters. СЛАЙД1

As you know such letters are sent to friends, relatives. Usually there you can tell about your problems, feelings or ask for information or advice.

There are some rules of writing a Pers.Letter so you must know how to do it correctly.

You may get 6 points for the letter:

-2-for the structure

-2-for the contents

-2-for the language СЛАЙД 2


The style of P. L. is informal. It means they must be written in short sentences using:

  • a friendly and personal tone (exclamatory sentences, tag-questions, dashes)

  • contractions (I'll, it's, we'd…)

  • phrasal verbs

  • Informal expressions (Cool!, Guess what?, OK, And another thing, By the way, Listen, Let me know, Let me tell you about, Got to go)

  • Linking words (but, and, so, oh, well)

The first task is: look at the screen and choose the right variant. Read the statement and say if it's right or wrong.

Now let's work in groups. Work with a letter and find the signs of a personal letter.

The second group - make a list of words that are typical of a personal letter.

Read a letter and mark its parts according to the structure. (слабые)

And your group - complete the following letter by filling in each of the gap with one of expressions 1 - 8 above.

Задание 4.

The first group :Look at the screen and do the task

  1. Match the sentences to the corresponding parts of a letter.

  2. Work with the disc. Put the parts of a letter in the right order. Test yourself ex.5

And now your hometask : Read the composition question and do the exercises that follow.

You've read an interesting book. Write a letter to your penfriend Tom Watson explaining why you enjoyed the book so much and recommending that they read it.




Circle the sentences which would be appropriate for this kind of letter. There might be more than one sentence in each group which is appropriate.
