…I've decided to send you a book in English for your birthday. What kind of book would you like? What kind of books do you usually read in your own language? Is there a particular book you know about that you would like me to get for you? Are there any kinds of books you definetely don't like? Give me some idea of what I could get for you?

Dear Rosie,

Thank you for your letter. I was very happy to hear from you.

Thank you very much for offering to send me a book for my birthday. I love reading different kinds of books, but my favourite genre is fantasy. I often read the most interesting books twice, for example, "Lord of the Rings" and "Harry Potter".
I think it will be very interesting to read books about Harry Potter in English. Can you please send me the first book? It's called "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone". You ask me what books I definetely don't like. I never read science fiction. I find it very boring.
What about you? Tell me, please, about your favourite books. What kind of books do you like to read? Do you have a favourite book?

I'm looking forward to hearing from you and to getting the present.

Best wishes,

Lisa

You have received a letter from your English-speaking pen-friend Tom who writes:

… In Great Britain most young people want to become independent from their parents as soon as possible. Could you tell me what you and your friends think about not relying on your parents? Are you ready to leave your family immediately after you finish school? Is it easy to rent a house or an apartment for students in Russia? As for the latest news, I have just returned from a trip to Scotland…

Write the answer to your friend
