THEME: 'PROFESSIONS'
AIM: 1.learn to differ the professions and speak about them
2. develop the vocabulary and speaking skills
3. learn to respect all the professions
LESSON PLAN
I. BEGINNING OF THE LESSON
1. Organization moment
a) greeting of pupils
b) asking class questions
c) question "How are you?"
2. Present lesson theme
a) revision of the professions
b) speaking about professions
II.MAIN LESSON
1. VOCABULARY ZONE.
a) look at the pictures and repeat the words of the people's professions with the teacher;
b) read the words of the professions from the blackboard written by the teacher or the given words on the paper
c)pronounce all the words with the teacher (slide 2)
2. SLIDE SHOW ZONE
a) teacher shows the slides of professions (slides 3 -15)
b) children read the phrases on the slides
c) revise the names of the professions without the pictures of the slides
d) word game: teacher tells the name of the profession and children translate them into Russian or English
3. PICTURE WORK
a) look at the pictures and name the professions, then what these people do (the words are given in Russian and children must difine their activity)
b) remember all the professions and put the suitable picture against the arrow in order to revise them all, then pronounce the words (slide 17)
c) remember the activity that is done by people in every picture (teacher reads the phrases and translate them, then gives children a chance to guess the meaning of the phrases)
4. FIND THE PICTURE
a) study the picture in the slide (slide 16)
b) name the learnt professions
c) study the verbs given in Russian language and name the verb that goes to the right picture
d) try to give the translation of the verbs in English (children remember the verbs that were given to them before)
5. GROUP WORK
a) teacher gives to the children a sheet of paper with the diagram (slide 17)
b) there are cards of professions
c) the task is to put the pictures with professions opposite the arrows
6. CHECKING OF TRANSLATING SKILLS
a) suggest to look at the slide (children see the Russian sentences and the English sentences) (slide 18)
b)children read the sentences in Russian and find the English equivalents to them
c) look at the crossword (slide 19) and do the task: to find 6 professions
d) 2 new words are given to pupils by the teacher (slide 19)
e) look at the next slide (slide 20)and give the names of known professions
7. MATCH THE WORDS
a) look at the words of professions (slide 21)
b) read the words in Russian and in English
c) match the word in Russian with the word in English
d) read the right word to the class
8. GRAMMAR ZONE
