2. Розвивати логічне, критичне та аналітичне мислення

3. Виховувати почуття відповідальності за свої вчинки у ділових відносинах

Procedure

I. 1. Greetings

• Good morning, ladies and gentlemen

• I'm glad to see you

• Sit down, please

• Are you in a good mood?

• Are you ready to start the lesson?

• Let's check who's absent today.

2. Now you are school-leavers but in some year you'll graduate from the universities and start searching for a job.

• What things are the most important for you in your future job?

• You are right and today we are going to speak about different styles of management and their peculiarities.

4. So, the topic of our lesson is Management Styles (Слайд2 )

You are going to learn how to use your leadership qualities right now. After you have learnt about the types of different management styles and their special features, about the role of the leader's personality in choosing the style, you'll get into managers' shoes and try to solve a real management problem.

For this we're going to:

• Speak about different styles of management and about leadership qualities;

• Speak about differences between men and women as leaders;

• Do a personal quiz;

• And at the end of the lesson we are to answer the question

2. Now let's find out which personal qualities make a good leader and why.

This is a list of adjectives describing different aspects of a person's character, choose the most suitable ones for a leader and explain why you think so.

Take Handout №1 and work in pairs, please. You have 1 minute to complete your work.

6. But there is one more style of is used by the most of the world famous companies. And now we're going to listen to the information about it.

Your task is the same. You should complete the table which is given in Handout № 2.

You should work in pairs.

7. The is one more style of management we haven't mentioned yet. It's called Laissez - Faire style. The term Laissez-Faire was derived from the French expression 'leave it alone'. (Слайд 11)

8. Managing a successful company at present is not only men's priority. Women have proved the ability to be leaders.

9. So, as you see, the sex of a person influences the decision making process.

10. Now imagine that you're the top managers in the company which recently has faced a challenging situation.

You normally use the management style which is written on the desk. If necessary you can combine several styles.

You are sitting in an unusual way to see how male and female approach to management works.

The details of this situation are given in the Handout №4 and on the screen. (Слайд 15)

• Work in groups. You have 3 minutes.

• Say what you would do to solve this problem, according to your management style.

• Take notes if you need, choose the speaker to present your ideas.

• Listen to your peers speaking and count the number of authoritative and democratic measures suggested.

• Then we'll compare the results

• Which group was the most authoritative?

• And which group was the most democratic?

• Did the girls suggestions differ?
