Цели и задачи урока:

Обучающие:

  • Обобщить знания учащихся по теме «We are different. Getting along with others»;

  • Повторить и закрепить лексические единицы по данной теме - описание внешности и черт характера человека;

  • Проверить осознанность изученного материала;

  • Научить описывать внешность и черты характера;

  • Совершенствовать навыки чтения и письма по изученной лексике

  • Продолжать формировать умения и навыки -

  1. Пользоваться раздаточными карточками;

Ход урока

  1. Организация класса

- Good morning, boys and girls. I am glad to see you.

- Good morning, our teacher. We are glad to see you too.

  1. Сообщение целей и задач урока.

  • Today we shall speak about people. You know that we are different. But we should get along with others. It will be a very interesting trip today. And at the end of it you will know what is the most important thing for each person. Look! This is a map, a magic map. We should follow its instructions and we'll certainly find the answer. Let us start.

  1. Фонетическая зарядка.

This is the first stop and it is called "Learn the poem". If you want to do this task correctly, we'll repeat some sounds.

Let us learn the poem:


I have a friend

And we have fun together.
We laugh and play

This is the second stop and it is called "Comment on these"

Учащимся предлагается прокомментировать следующие высказывания и выразить свое мнение по их поводу.

Our next stop is "Listening". Look at the photograph and listen to the description of Aunt Emily. Before listening it we should learn some new words (phrases):

Spirit- дух, настроение, душевное состояние, сущность

a little wrinkled- немного сморщенно

content- удовлетворение, чувство удовлетворения, удовольствие


Of all my relatives, I like my Aunt Emily the best. She's my mother's youngest sister. She has never married, and she lives alone in a small village near Bath. She's in her late fifties, but she's still quite young in spirit. She has a fair complexion, thick brown hair which she 5 wears in a bun, and dark brown eyes. She has a kind face, and when you meet her, the first thing you notice is her lovely, warm smile. Her face is a little wrinkled now, but I think she is still rather attractive. She is the sort of person you can always go to if you have a problem.

She likes reading and gardening, and she goes for long walks over the hills with her dog, Buster. She's a very active person. Either she's making something, or mending something, or doing something to help others. She does the shopping for some of the old people in the village. She's extremely generous, but not very tolerant with people who don't agree with her. I hope that I am as happy and contented as she is when I'm her age.

This is the fifth stop and it is called "Detectives". There are 15 pupils in our group. Each of you'll get one card with the name of your classmate. You should describe his(her) appearance, character, habits, likes and dislikes.

Read the description of one girl's friend Duncan. Use a dictionary. Find:

• the adjectives that are used to describe Duncan; '

Which adjectives describe his appearance? Which adjectives describe his personality?

• two habits that Susie doesn't like;

• his hobbies;

• something that he likes to wear;

• his hopes for the future.

My new friend's called Duncan Care. Duncan is 18. He has just left school and is going to university in the autumn. When you first meet him he appears to be a little cold and arrogant. As you get to know -him you discover that he has a warm and friendly personality. I think he's very attractive. He's much taller than me. He's got short blond hair and wonderful blue eyes, which seem to smile when he talks to you. He doesn't smoke which is important to me and he doesn't drink, but he has two habits that really irritate me. He chews gum and taps his fingers on the table when he is waiting. His hobby is motorcycles and he's saving money to buy his own bike. He also likes basketball and swimming. He's a really cool dresser. I hope to get to know him better.
