Цель урока:

Сформировать умение выражать своё мнение и аргументировано отстаивать его.

Задачи образовательные:

1. Активизировать лексические навыки по теме «Одежда».

2. Совершенствовать коммуникативные навыки.

Задачи развивающие:

1. Развивать умение оценивать полученную информацию на основе прочитанного и выражать своё мнение.

2. Развивать умение мыслить логически.

Задачи воспитательные:

1. Способствовать воспитанию таких личностных качеств как чувство гордости и принадлежности к своей школе.

2. Формировать чувство вкуса при выборе одежды.

Good morning, dear students. Sit down. How are you?

So, we can start our lesson.

First of all I want you to watch a short cartoon and guess what we are going to talk about.

The topic of our lesson is "A school uniform as a guarantee of success"

Today you will learn to express your opinion and support it with arguments. It is very important nowadays and I think it will help you in your future life and career.

But before we start I'd like to ask you some questions.

1. What do you associate with the word uniform? (word-web, на доске)

2. Who has to wear a uniform?

3. Do you have a uniform in your school? Can you describe it?

4. Do you know anything about the origin of a school uniform?

Each group has a short text. Read the text and answer the questions.

2. When did the students of English public schools begin wearing uniforms?-16^th century

3. What are good points in wearing a uniform?- children take school more seriously, it prepares the students for future jobs, it saves parents' money

4. Why there were arguments over uniforms in American public schools?-it suppresses pupil's individuality

The problem of a school uniform remains hot nowadays. Some schools require wearing uniforms, some don't. Some students like the idea of wearing a uniform, but the others are against it.

My assistants conducted a school survey about a school uniform. We asked 50 pupils the same question: Is a school uniform necessary?

1. No discrimination because of clothes

5. Not everybody can afford expensive clothes

6. Don't distract students from studying

1. Prevents from expressing individuality

3. Everybody looks the same

Every country has its own culture and traditions and of course it influences the people's clothes. It also concerns a school uniform. Look at the pictures and guess the country from which this uniform comes.

Now, I'd like you to work as designers. Create your models of Russian school uniform for boys, girls and (don't laugh) teachers and present them.
