Theme: Magic labyrinth

Aims:

  1. To sum up the materials on the theme "Proverbs";

  2. To develop speaking skills;

  3. To develop pupils' skills to solve problem tasks;

  4. To develop lexical habits and skills.

Material: slides with tasks, cards with tasks, cards with questions.

  1. Organization moment.

Here we divide pupils into two groups (teams). They say the names of their teams.

  1. Warm-up.

On this step of our lesson we try to warm our pupils up.

After the warming-up the teacher says: Today imagine you happen to be lost in a labyrinth. This labyrinth is not a simple one. It's magic. To go out of it you are to do several tasks.

  1. Solve a problem.

Each team chooses a card on which a problem is given. Their task is to try to solve it.

  • Cindy and Sebastian are lying dead on the floor. They are surrounded by broken glass and water. The window to the room is open and the curtains are flapping in the breeze.

Question: Who are they? How did they die and why?

  • A man is lying dead on the floor. Next to him is a piece of wood, some dust and a gun. Another man comes to the door, opens it, looks in, and sees the dead man and smiles. He walks away extremely happy.

Question: Who was the dead man? Why is the second man happy?
