English Marathon (Form 6)

Teacher: "Dear friends! Nice to see you. Today we have a very interesting lesson - English Marathon of two teams. You'll have to do some tasks and get a score for every task. At the end of the marathon we'll know who is the winner. Be active and correct. I wish you success!

It's winter. It's cold outside but we are going to have fun. Do you like winter? (чтение стихов о зиме)

1. Let's meet the teams. (представление команд: название, девиз, эмблема)

2. Captains' speech (капитаны представляются - рассказ о себе)

I task "Do you know the Flags?"

На доске помещены флаги частей Британии. Участники должны правильно соотнести название страны и её флаг:

1. Scotland a)?

II task "Symbols"

На доске помещены символы. Участники должны написать названия стран, с которыми эти символы связаны.

1. a red rose (England)

III task "Sights"

На доске открытки с изображением достопримечательностей. Участникам предлагается описание, они должны назвать и показать достопримечательность.

2. It was a prison. Now it is a museum and a Royal Treasury. There are a lot of ravens there. (The Tower of London).

3. It is the home of the Queen. (Buckingham Palace)

4. It is a royal church. This is where the coronation takes place. (Westminster Abbey)

IV task "Holidays"

На доске даны ключевые слова, связанные с праздниками. Участники должны назвать праздник.

На доске имена писателей: Beatrix Potter, James M. Barrie, Lewis Carroll, Pamela L. Travers, Alan Milne, Daniel Defoe. Вопросы:

1. Who is the author of "Robinson Crusoe?(Daniel Defoe)

2. Who wrote about Winnie-the-Pooh? (Alan Milne)

3. Who wrote about funny rabbits and other animals? (Beatrix Potter)

4. Who is the author of "Mary Poppins"? (Pamela L. Travers)

5. Who wrote the adventure of the girl called Alice in the magic country Wonderland? (Lewis Carroll)

На доске имена персонажей литературных произведений: 1) Alice 2) Gulliver 3) Peter Pan 4) Mary Poppins 5) Doctor Doolittle 6) Robinson Crusoe. Участникам следует угадать, о ком идёт речь в предложениях:

Участники соревнуются в произношении скороговорок.

II task "Flowers"( раскрасить только те лепестки цветов, на которых написаны глаголы)

III task "Rhyme time"( отметить «Х» те слова, которые рифмуются со словом "please")

IV task "Odd word out"(исключить лишнее слово в списке)

I task "Tenses"

Участники указывают номер предложения, для перевода которого используется форма глагола в Past Simple, Present Continuous, Future Simple, Past Continuous, Present Simple.

1. Посмотри в окно. Идёт сильный дождь.

2. Когда пришёл мой друг, я делал домашнюю работу.

3. Солнце встаёт на востоке.

4. Она будет сдавать экзамен в августе.

5. Прошлым летом мы ездили в Испанию.

Участники соревнуются в написании форм грамматических времён (на скорость и правильность)

Участники должны определить, на какой из вопросов данные утверждения являются ответами:
