Урок английского языка по теме «Достопримечательности Лондона»,

7 класс

Цели: Совершенствование речевых навыков чтения и говорения по теме.

Задачи:

  • Активизировать употребление Present Simple, Past Simple

  • Ознакомить с новыми лексическими единицами по теме

  • Учить читать текст с целью полного понимания содержания, выполнять задания к тексту.

  • Учить вести обсуждение в паре (группе).

  • Развивать память, внимание, способности к догадке.

  • Воспитывать уважительное, толерантное отношение к чужой культуре.



Оснащение урока:

1) Презентации в программе Power Point.

2) Раздаточный материал: текст «London», карточки с заданиями, тест.

Ход урока:

1. Организационно-мотивационный этап.

We talked about the UK, the national emblems and flags of the parts of the UK, their patron saints.

HT: You have to identify the flags of Scotland, England, Ireland and the National flag of the United Kingdom. Key on the board: 1b 2c 3d 4 a (самоконтроль по ключу, баллы в карточку)

Explain your choice: P-P-P (проверка - презентация «Symbols of GB» What nickname does the British flag have? (жетоны)

Выход на тему, задачи: What city is the capital of the UK?

Brainstorming: What do you know about London? - P-P-P What sights do you know?

What must you do? So you are to learn more facts about London and its sights, to learn new words, to read and understand the text in details, to tell what you learnt. So I invite you to make an excursion about London. (Presentation «London sights»)



2. Операционный этап

1) Vocabulary: Look at these sights and repeat after me, translate T-Cl-P (slides)

the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, St.Paul's Cathedral, Hyde Park.



2) Reading "London" (sheets with the text)

a) New words: Look at the text and repeat some new words after me: T-Cl-PP

b) Read the text quickly and find some sentences (жетоны):

Translate the following sentences (жетоны) :

- It is a castle with high walls and towers, small windows and large gardens.

- The legend says that the Tower will fall if the ravens fly away.

LONDON

London is the capital of England and the UK. It is a very old city. It is two thousand years old. About 9 million people live in London. London is a big port. It is situated (находится) on the river Thames. London's most famous sights are the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, the Tower of London and Tower Bridge, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace and St.Paul's Cathedral, Hyde Park.

The Houses (палаты) of Parliament are in the centre of London. Big Ben is a famous clock on the Houses of Parliament. You can hear it every hour. It has a big bell (колокол). It weighs (весить) 13,720 kilograms.

The Tower of London is the oldest building of the city. It is a castle (замок) with high walls and towers (башни), small windows and large gardens. Once (когда-то) it was a strong fortress (крепость), a royal (королевская) residence and a state prison (государственная тюрьма). Now it is a museum. The ravens (вороны) live in the Tower. The legend says that the Tower will fall (падать) if the ravens fly away. Tower Bridge is situated near the Tower of London.

Buckingham Palace (дворец) is the London home of the Queen. They change the Guard (караул) every day at 11.30 a.m.

St.Paul's Cathedral is a famous church (церковь), the greatest work of the architect (архитектор) Sir Christopher Wren
