"Visiting big cities"

Grammar: Present Simple.

Materials for the lesson: Pupil's book, copybook, pen, blackboard, chalk, CD-recorder, interactive whiteboard, visual aids.

Objectives. The pupils will be able to:

1. Educational purpose: to revise Present Simple Tense; To read and translate the texts; To learn new vocabulary

2. Skills: To practice in using the new vocabulary in exercises

3. Bringing up: To receive more new information about other countries, To be esthetically educated.

Procedure of the lesson

Lesson phase

1. Opening exercises: Greeting the pupils (Asking general questions: Good afternoon, sit down please. How are you today? Who is in duty today? What date is today? What is the weather like today? What season is it now?) T-Cl 2min

1) Warm up: Pupil's book Step one. p.26 ex.1 Look at the words in the box. You should match a picture with a word. Ex.: - What is it on the picture #1? - It is a factory T-S1-S3-S2 5min

2) Turn the page in your books at p.27 ex.2 Complete the chart putting the words from exercise 1 into the correct column. Ex. 3 Fill in the gaps T-Cl 5 min

2. Presentation of the new material. T-Cl 5min

1. Pre-reading task. Word box

Listening to the pronunciation of the new words. Pupil's book p.27 ex.4 T-Cl 4 min

Repeat after me please: Building, cost, population….
