The aim: to teach pupils to speak on the topic "Presents"
The following aims are also pursued:

T.: Good morning, children. Sit down please. I am glad to see you again. Now, let's begin our lesson.

T.: How are you today? Do you like the weather today? Why?
I I. Oral practice
1) revision of the words on the topic "England"
T.: Now, a bit of revision. Say what can be touching?
P.: A touching story, a touching incident, touching look.
T.: What can be official?
P.: Official duties, an official uniform, an official style.
T.: What can be public?
P.: A public opinion, a public place, a public library.
T.: Do you like to give or get presents? I think you do. Today we are going to talk about presents. You will learn what presents the British Queen gets. At the end of the lesson you will learn a new quotation.
2) Phonetic drill
T.: First let's do a phonetic drill. Do you remember the tongue-twister about the dame with the crane? Let's see which of you can say it quicker. Thank you.
3) Preparing for listening
T.: Now children could you answer my questions?
- Do you like to get presents?
- What presents do you like to get?
- When do you usually get presents?
- Do you like to give presents?
- Is it difficult to choose a present?
- How do you usually choose presents for your friends or relatives?
4) Work with new words (The books are closed)
T.: Look at the blackboard and read the list of words, please. Try to guess what do these words mean. If you don't know, ask me.

5) Listening to the dialogue
T.: Some of these things were given to the British Queen as presents. Listen to the dialogue between Olga and Stephen and say which of these things the Queen doesn't have in her collection of presents.
After listening: P.: "The Queen doesn't have a camera and a magazine in her collection of presents." - "That's right"
6) Reading the dialogue and answering the questions
Now, open your books on page 127, ex. 17., and read the dialogue " Queen's Presents". Find out where the Queen keeps her presents.
P.: "The presents are kept in Buckingham Palace and in the British Museum."
T.: Well, I want to ask you some more questions. Who gave the camera to Stephen?
P.: His parents gave him the camera as a Christmas present.
T.: What did the queen get from an American hot-dog firm?
P.: The firm gave her a big box of hot-dogs with mustard.
T.: What places does Olga want to visit in London?
P.: She wants to visit the British Museum, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park and Big Ben.
7) Reading the dialogue after the speaker
T.: Now read the dialogue after the speaker, please. Mind the stresses and intonation. (the children repeat after the speaker all together)
T.: Alright then, read the dialogue in pairs and I'll come round and listen. Then, exchange your roles. Now, read the dialogue on the mark. At home you will learn your dialogue by heart.
III. Grammar
1) making the questions on the topic "Presents"
T.: next time you will talk about presents with your partner. So, you should prepare to ask and answer some questions. Open your books on page 135, ex. 27. think of the questions you will ask your friend. Write them in your copybooks:
1. When do you get (give) presents?
2. What do you usually get (give)?
3. Who gives you presents?
4. Where do you buy presents?
5. For whom do you buy presents?
6. What presents can you make yourself?
7. What was the best present you have ever got?
8. What was the most unusual present you have ever got?
9. What presents would you like to get for Christmas?
T.: At home you are to prepare to answer these questions.
IV. Learning a new quotation.
T.: At the end of the lesson I'd like you to learn a new quotation on page 127. Read the quotation aloud, please.
"Солнечные мысли делают день ярче"
T.: Do you agree with this idea? Can you comment on this quote?
V. The end of the lesson
1) home task
T.: Our lesson is coming to end. Do you remember your home task?
P.: The home task is to learn the dialogue by heart (ex. 17, page 127) and answer the questions (ex. 27, page 135).
T.: Then you are to translate the sentences. It's ex. 29 (a), page 135.
