Guide: (Teacher) Good afternoon, dear children. Welcome to the British capital! Welcome to our round London sightseeing tour. I'm glad to show you the most famous sights of London. But just a few words about London. It lies on the river Thames. The population of the city is about 8 million people. London is one of the oldest and most interesting cities in Europe. Traditionally it's divided into several parts: the City, Westminster, the West End and the East End The Heart of London is the City, It's financial and business center. Numerous banks, offices and firms are situated there. Westminster is the historic, the governmental part of London. The West End is the richest and more beautiful part of London. It's the symbol of wealth and luxury. The East End was once the poorest district of London - with lots of factories and docks, narrow streets and unimpressive buildings. Today the district is changing very fast. There are huge offices and new blocks of flats in the East End. And now we begin our sightseeing tour near the ВBuckingham Palace.
