Задачи:

1. Ознакомить учащихся о значении изучении английского языка.

2. Обобщить материал по темам «Вашингтон», «Пассивный залог».

3. Развитие монологической и диалогической речи.

4. Привитие страноведческого интереса к стране изучаемого языка.

Оборудование: магнитофон, аудиокассета, плакаты, карточки с заданиями.

План урока:

I. Организационный момент

- Who is on duty today?

- Who is absent?

- What date is it today?

- What day of the week is it today?

II. Беседа учителя о значении иностранного (английского) языка.

Today we shall revise the material of previous lessons. We shall speak about America, its cities, how to behave yourself in different situations, about passive voice. But at first I shall tell you about the meaning of English language in our life.

English is one of the most spoken languages in the world. Now, over 400 million people speak it. It is the official language of Great Britain, the USA, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

To learn a foreign language means to know more about the country, its people and culture. When you meet a foreigner, you can speak with him, understand his ideas and opinions. To know foreign language is necessary. Little children learn it easily. They learn to play different games, sing songs and listen to fairy tales.

Now there are many joint foreign and Russian firms. Hundred of books, magazines and newspapers are printed in English. It is the language of modern music, cinema and theatre. It is the main language of international communication.

III. Развитие монологической речи.

T: The USA is one of the English spoken countries in the world. The capital of the USA is Washington, D.C. Now you will listen reports about American cities.

T: We live in Tatarstan and the capital of our republic is Kazan. Now listen please a short report about Kazan.

Kazan is the capital of Tatarstan. It is situated on the banks of the Volga and Kazanka rivers. It is quickly developed as an economic, trading and cultural centre of the Mid Volga basin in the 19th century. One of the oldest Universities of Russia was opened in Kazan in 1804. The lives of many outstanding people were connected with it. There is the opera House, the Russian and Tatar drama theatres, the Conservatory, the Circus, the Young Children's theatre. Kazan is also famous for its remarkable architectural monuments. Especially fine is the white-stoned Kremlin with its beautiful Suyumbek Tower. People in Kazan are friendly and hospitable.

IV. Достопримечательности Вашингтона.

T: Now you will listen to the tape. Try to guess about what sights is spoken in the tape.

1) It is the home of every president of the USA. This is the oldest public building in Washington, D.C. It consists of 132 rooms. (The White House)

2) It is the tallest build in Washington, D.C., this is where laws are made. It is surrounded by a beautiful garden with many trees and flowers. (The Capitol)

3) This monument was built in honour of the president. It is 555 feet tall and provides a panoramic view of Washington, D.C. (Washington Monument)

V. Правила поведения на улице и дома.

T: You know that not only American teachers but also Russian teachers and your parents are very concerned about the safety of our children. Let's revise some rules how to act in different situations.

3) You are home alone. Someone knocks and says they have a package to deliver for your mother.

VI. Пассивный залог.

T: Let's revise the passive voice.

Форма Passive Voice образуется при помощи вспомогательного глагола to be и причастия смыслового глагола. Пассивный залог показывает, что подлежащее не выполняет действие, а подвергается действию другого лица или предмета.
