Цілі уроку:

практична: активізувати лексичні одиниці по темі, розвивати вміння читання з повним охопленням змісту, розвивати вміння писемного та усного мовлення;

освітня: розширювати кругозір і підвищувати загальну культуру учнів;

розвиваюча: розвивати здатність до співпереживання, розвивати увагу, мовну здогадку;

виховна: прищеплювати любов до книги і читання, виховувати поважне ставлення до читацьких нахилів однокласників, виховувати інтерес до іншомовної культури.

Тип уроку: урок творчого застосування знань і вдосконалення вмінь.

Обладнання: роздатковий матеріал (НО), мультимедійна презентація до уроку, комп'ютер, проектор

Хід уроку

І Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення

  1. Greeting

T: Good morning children. I`m glad to see you.

T: Good morning teacher, we are glad to see you too.

  1. Aim

T: Dear children, welcome to our lesson. They say: «The more you read, the more you know». So that is the motto of our lesson.

And now read the riddle and say what it is about.


I am a ship to lands of treasure,

I am a key to wisdom's pleasure.

I will always lead you on an upward streak

I have so much to tell you but cannot speak

If you can guess who might I be...

I will tell you all about the mysterious sea!

Who am I?

Ps: It is a book.

T: At our lesson you will speak about books and writers, meet your favourite characters, do some interesting tasks, revise grammar.

T: So let's start our lesson.

  1. Warming up

Гра "Guess the character"

T: Let's divide into four groups. The representative of each group will take the card with the name of some character. Every group describes the character not saying his/her name. But every member of a team says only one sentence. The opponents have to guess this hero.

Winnie the Pooh

Red Riding Hood

He is brave and strong, clever and honest, fond of nature, not afraid of wild animals, ready to save his animal friends.(Mowgli)

She is strict and kind, fond of children, clever and full of wonderful ideas, can do magic things, can make children happy.(Mary Poppins)

This boy is lazy and naughty, dirty and untidy, does not want go to school, wants to play all day long, likes to boast, silly but kind.(Pinocchio)

The girl is beautiful and clever, tidy and clean, kind and hard-working, ready to help other people. ( Cinderella)

This boy is lively and brave, naughty and lazy. He is a true friend . He is full of ideas and fond of adventures.(Tom Sawyer)

T: Before speaking about your favourite books let's speak about kinds of them.

T: Match the titles of the books with the genres of fictions they represent.

T: Answering you have to use such structure:

"The Sleeping Murder" by Agatha Christie is a detective novel.

  1. Speaking

  • Answer the teacher's questions

T: So, children. I see you know the words and I would like to go on our work.

Everybody of us reads books.

What books do you like to read?

What can make you take an interest in a story or a novel?

Where do you get a book?

What rules does the library have? How long can you keep a book from the library?

  • Role-play the situation

T: Imagine, you have read an interesting book, which you took out of the library. On the way to the library to return the book you meet your friend who gets interested in the book. Tell him/her about the book. Use this plan.

1. The title of the book and its genre.

2. The main character/characters of the book.

3. The setting.

4. The plot of the book.

4. The outcome.

5. Personal impressions of the book.

T: For describing your books and impressions you may use the following:

exiting adventure

emotional nature

to have fun

full of love (sorrow)

to improve the human nature

to be able to love and hate

good and bad

to be friendly

rich imagination

to bring up fillings and emotion


  1. Project

T: And now I'd like you do some project work. You have to ask your partners about their favourite books and retell this information to the whole class.

Do the advertisement of your favourite book.

Summarizing

T: So, boys and girls, our lesson is over in a few minutes. I'd like to know what moments of the lesson you liked. What interesting things have you learnt?

And I want to pay for job at the lesson. So your marks are…
