Warm up activity.

Teacher: Let's start our lesson. Today we are going to speak about weather, weather forecast, we'll have some listening and podcast. What is the weather like today?

Pupil1: It's cloudy and sunny.

Teacher: What is the temperature today?

Pupil2: It's about 100 above zero. It is clear and warm.

Teacher: Yes, I think so. What was the weather like yesterday?

Pupil1: It was rainy, wet and windy yesterday.

Teacher: What is the weather like in winter?

Pupil2: It is frosty, snowy and sometimes sunny and frosty.

Teacher: Do you know when it is windy a spider can remove to other spout?

Let's look at the board and read the poem about spider.

Аудирование.

Teacher: Have you heard the weather forecast for tomorrow? I don't know what to wear tomorrow. I'm going to the country. What will the weather be tomorrow? Should I take an umbrella or not?

Pupil1: I think it will rain tomorrow and you should take an umbrella.

Pupil2: May be it will be windy and dull.

Teacher: Ok, I'll take an umbrella. Thank you. Let's listen to the weather forecast. But before listening let's revise capitals and translate a word combinations about weather:


I'll divide you into 4 groups and give a geographic map for each group and symbols of weather forecast in the world. Please listen to the weatherman and mark the temperature in different cities.


Teacher: You have 2 minutes to complete your marking. Have you finished? Show me your maps, please.

Pre-listening activity:

Teacher: Now we are going to listen to podcast and answer the questions. But before we'll do some tasks:

  1. Teacher: Read the words on the board.

  1. Teacher: Let's remember Irregular verbs.

  1. Teacher: Now let's read and translate the questions to the text before listening. You should find answers to the questions.

Teacher: Listen to the story, please.

Teacher: Do you believe this story? Is it possible? Why? Why not?

Pupil1: I think it's true. I saw a TV program about it on National Geographic.

Pupil2: I don't believe as fish can not fly in the sky.

Teacher: Ok. Please, imagine that it is raining of fish. If you saw fish in the street what would you do?

Pupil1: May be I'd collect them and bring home.

Teacher: Let's continue listening to Christeen's story and know what she told to a reporter Richard Shees about the fish.


After listening activity:

Teacher: Did you like the story?

Pupils: Yes, we liked it.

Teacher: Let's check how well have you understood the story? Please look at the board.

Teacher: The next task. Choose the best title to the story:


Pupil: I think the best title is Animal rain.

Teacher: You are right. Now work in pairs. Give your own title to the text. You have 2 minutes.
