Разработка открытого внеклассного мероприятия на основе страноведческого материала по теме «The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland». Страноведческий КВН для учащихся 8-х классов.

Цели и задачи:

  • расширение знаний о Великобритании;

  • формирование уважения и интереса к другой культуре;

  • развитие языковых способностей учащихся, закрепление изученного материала;

  • повышение уровня учебной мотивации;

  • активизация навыков монологической речи;

  • формирование дружелюбного и уважительного отношения друг к другу;

  • реализация партнерских отношений между учителем и учениками.

Оборудование:

компьютер, проектор, презентация в PowerPoint по теме "The UK", карта Великобритании, раздаточный материал.


Dear children and teachers, welcome to our Club of the Merry and Quick-witted. Today we`ll travel to Great Britain. Our trip will be merry and interesting. You'll learn, remember sightseeings and history of the UK. You may play together with our participants. You must support them by clapping. And now let me invite our teams.

Конкурс 1. Greetings. Команды называют себя, показывают эмблемы и приветствуют соперников.

Ведущий: Let me introduce our judges:

Конкурс 2. Name a word.

Ведущий: Listen to and say in one word.

Команды быстро определяют слово, значение которого услышали.

  • A country ruled by a king or a queen (a kingdom)

  • A group of people living together under one government (a state)

  • Belonging to a king or a queen (royal)

- A large building where criminals are kept (a prison) - A tall narrow building either built on its own or forming part of a castle (a tower)

- A very large church - (a cathedral)

5. What does it mean "Great Plague"? Plague is a desease. Many people died in Great Britain.

5. What does it mean" Great Fire"?(The Great Fire of London destroyed most of the old wooden buildings in 1666. It was 80% of city property.)


Конкурс 6. Name the sights. Команды по очереди слушают тексты о достопримечательностях и называют их.

Ведущий: Name the sights of London.

1. There are four of them on this Tower. Their faces are 22.5 feet in diameter, the small hands are 9 feet long and the large hands are 14 feet. The bell weighs 13.5 tons and the hammer which strikes weighs 8 tons. Name the Tower or, at least, the bell.

2. It is in the center of the west end of London. It was built in commemoration of the victorious naval battle of 1805, in which a famous English admiral was fatally wounded (Trafalgar Square, a statue of Lord Nelson in the middle of the square)

3. This building was a fortress, a palace, a prison, a museum and now it is simply the most famous and most visited historic buildings. According to tradition it is guarded by the Yeoman Warders. (The Tower of London)

4. It was built in the 18th century and rebuilt later by the architect John Nash. The Royal Standard is flying over this building when the Queen is in the residence.

5. This Concert Hall is a circular brick building under a glass-and-metal roof. It is used for concerts, athletics events, for public gatherings and so on. The Hall was built in 1867-1871. (The Royal Albert Hall)

6. It is a Royal church. The interior décor of it is breathtaking. It seems the walls are made of glass. It has witnessed 38 coronations: the most recent was that of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. (Westminster Abbey)

Конкурс 7. "Proverbs". Команды получают карточки с английскими пословицами и их русскими эквивалентами. 1-я команда читает английскую пословицу(5 ), вторая - русский эквивалент(5). Затем - наоборот. (Приложение 1)

Конкурс 8. "Famous People" Команды получают карточки с кроссвордом (Приложение 2) и читают имя знаменитого английского писателя (Dickens)

Ведущий: Now, it's time for the judges to say some words about these competitions. While our judges are summing up, you are welcome to sing English songs.

Ведущий: Our competition is over and I'm happy to announce the results of it.

Team "Good Friends" has got …..points.

Team "Travellers" has got ….. points. Thus you have finished with the score …. in favour of the team ….

But you did your best to win! Congratulations to everybody!
