Peter Pan

Scene I

(Tinker Bell flies into the room, rings her bells and hides behind the chair. Peter follows her. The girl wakes up and stares at Peter in surprise.)

Wendy: Who are you?

My name is Peter Pan. And what is your name?

Wendy: Wendy Moira Angela Darling. Peter, how did you get here?

Peter Pan: Through the window. It was open. You see I can fly. Fairies taught me this when Iwas very very young.

Wendy: Are there fairies?

Peter: Lots of them. There ought to be a fairy for every boy and girl. And there is one fairy in this room. Listen!

(They hear a bell ring)

Wendy: The only sound I hear is like a tinkle of bells.

Peter: Well that`s Tink That s the fairy language. You hear her too.

(Tinker Bell comes out and dances)

Wendy: Nice to meet you, Tink. Are you really a fairy?

Tink: I am. You see children know such a lot now, they soon don`t believe in fairies, and every time a child says, "I don` t believe in fairies", there is a fairy somewhere that falls down dead.

Wendy: I give my word never to say this again in my life.

Peter: Wendy, if you know fairy-tales, you could go to Neverland with me and tell them to the lost boys.

Wendy: I`d love to but Peter, how do we get to Never Land?

Peter Pan: Fly, of course.

Wendy: Fly?

Peter Pan: It's easy! All it takes is faith and trust and just a little bit of pixie dust. [taps Tinkerbell a bit with his hand to make golden dust come off and rain down on the girl] : Now, think of the happiest things. It's the same as having wings.

Wendy: I can fly!

Peter Pan: One, two, three! Second star to the right and straight on till morning.

Scene II

(The Lost Boys talk to Big Chief)

Wendy: What's the chief doing, John?

Tink: He's giving an oration in sign language.

Wendy: What's he saying?

Tink: He says... "Peter Pan... mighty warrior... save Tigerlily... make big chief... heap glad."

Indian Chief: How.

Lost Boy (Bear), Lost Boy (Fox), Lost Boy (Racoon), Wendy: How, Chief. How.

Indian Chief: For many moons, red man fight paleface Lost Boys.

Lost Boy (Bear), Lost Boy (Fox), Lost Boy (Racoon): Ugh.

Indian Chief: Sometime, you win; sometime, we win.

Lost Boy (Bear): Okay, Chief. We all win this time. Now let`s have a chat.

Indian Chief: OK Who will speak first?

Lost Boy (Fox): I shall. I think I had a mother once.

Lost Boy (Racoon): What was she like?

Lost Boy (Fox): I forget.

Lost Boy (Racoon): I had a white rat.

Lost Boy (Fox): That's no mother!

Lost Boy (Bear): All I remember about my mother is that she often said to Father, "Oh, how I wish I had a cheque-book of my own!"

Lost Boy (Fox): I don` t know what a cheque-book is, but I should just love to give my mother one.

Indian Chief: I think Squaw will tuck you up and tell you a good night story. You sleep well. I have spoken. How.

Lost Boy (Bear), Lost Boy (Fox), Lost Boy (Racoon), Wendy: How, Chief. How.

(Lulla bye song. Girls dance with dolls)

Scene III

(Peter is sleeping. Hook wants to kill him in his sleep)

Mr. Smee: Oh, dear, dear, dear, Captain Hook. Shooting a man in the middle of his cadenza? That isn't good form, you know.

Captain Hook: "Good form," Mr Smee? Blast good form!

Captain Hook: [waves his hook in front of Smee] Did Pan show good form when he did this to me?

Mr. Smee: Why, Captain, cutting your hand off was only a childish prank, you might say.

Captain Hook: Aye! But throwing it to the crocodile! That cursed reptile liked the taste of me so well he's followed me ever since, licking his chops for the rest of me.

(Tinker Bell rings her bells. Peter wakes up takes his sword and they start fighting.)

Captain Hook: Fly! Fly! Fly! You coward!

Peter Pan: Coward! Me?

Captain Hook: Ha-ha-ha! You wouldn't dare fight old Hook man-to-man. You'd fly away like a cowardly sparrow!

Peter Pan: Nobody calls Pan a coward and lives! I'll fight you man-to-man, with one hand behind my back.

Captain Hook: Good, then let's have it!

(The lost boys and pirates join the battle. Suddenly they hear Tick-tock tick-tock.

Captain Hook runs away. The Crocodile enters.)

Lost Boy (Bear), Lost Boy (Fox), Lost Boy (Racoon), Wendy Indian Chief Peter Pan</<font color="#000000"> Tink: Sing in chorus

"Never smile at a crocodile"

Never smile at a crocodile.

No, you can't get friendly with a crocodile

Don't be taken in by his welcome grin,

He` s imagining how well you` d fit within his skin.

Never smile at a crocodile.

Never tip your hat and stop to talk awhile,

Never run!

Walk away.

Say good night, not good day!

Clear the isle.

Never smile at Mr. Crocodile.
