The theme of the lesson: Repetition of lexical and grammar material.

Revision of Present simple and Past simple

The objectives of the lesson:

1) Educational: By the end of the lesson students should be able to knowing the grammar material. To improve skills of speech activity of pupils the use before the studies lexicon on a theme in speech of pupils to explain knowledge of pupils on use grammatical the phenomenon. 2) Developing: To develop the pupil's habits of the oral speech, to develop pupils creative and logical abilities, understanding, reading and writing. 3) Bringing-up: to bring up love and interest to the subject, to respect each other, to create an English atmosphere in the classroom and to develop friendship.

Today we'll compare and consolidate the Present simple and Past simple. Now look at this forms of tenses.

Present simple is used to express

a habit and etc.

Past simple expresses' past actions

  1. New material Work in groups. Now let's divide into three groups. I'll give you tasks.

Group A you must underline the correct word in each sentence. Present Simple.

  1. Colin and Carmen live/lives in Madrid.

  2. Harry watch/watches television every evening.

  3. I usually go/goes to school by bus.

  4. It never snow/snows in this city.

  5. Sam live/lives in that house.

Group B you must change the verbs in brackets into the Past Simple. My day yesterday.

  1. My mother (call)…..called….. me at 7.00 yesterday.

  2. I (walk) _______________to school.

  3. After school I (watch)________television.

  4. Then I (play) __________basketball with my friends.

  5. At 8.30 we (finish)____the game.

Group C you must put the words in the correct order to make sentences.

  1. Never / I/ get up/ at 7 o'clock._________________________________________

  2. He/ usually/ go/ by bus / to school._____________________________________

  3. Often/ Jane/ late/ is. ______________________________________________

  4. Sometimes/ me/phones/ Helen._______________________________________

If you have finished then give your work to another group. Now all of groups, you must check up and if they have mistakes correct it.


6. Practice: O'K very good! Now then take please, these cards. In these cards 5 sentences. Your tasks you must change these sentences into the Present simple or Past Simple. Someone of you must put the words in the correct order to make sentences. If you have finished write down on the blackboard, we'll check up your works.


7. Reproduction: Now you will write the test to consolidate your grammar material. I give you 15 minutes; I think that you can write the test.
