«Люди, вдохновляющие нас (Examples to inspire us) »

Открытый урок по теме «Люди, вдохновляющие нас (Examples to inspire us)» в 10 классе ко Дню космонавтики (УМК Кузовлева В.П. 10-11 кл)

Социокультурный аспект урока: знакомство с выдающимися личностями (на примере фактов биографии первого космонавта).

Развивающий аспект урока: развитие способности логично излагать свои мысли.

Воспитательный аспект урока: привитие чувства патриотизма, ответственности за выбор будущей профессии, обозначение критериев личности, предъявляемых обществом к профессионалу.

Учебный аспект урока: совершенствование речевых навыков (монологической формы речи), развитие навыков аудирования.

Задачи:

1. совершеснтвование навыков монологической речи;

2. развитие умения читать с детальным пониманием (reading for detail);

3. развитие умения выражать свои мысли, используя различного вида опоры.

Речевой материал

Лексика: recall, obstacle, modern, aim, humane, exploration, succeed, success, value, hard, hardship, perfectionist, career, require, inspire, лексика по теме "Traits".

Грамматика: сложноподчиненные с придаточными причины, следствия, условия.

Приложения к уроку: текст для аудирования (разработка), портреты героев сообщений (презентация), раздаточный материал распечатки отрывков текста из книги Ю.А. Гагарина «I see the Earth», тексты с высказываниями космонавтов о своей работе, задания и упражнения к тексту (разработки).

План урока

1. Приветствие, вступительная беседа по теме «Вдохновение и кто может вдохновить», мотивирование.(3 мин.)

2. Фонетическая подготовка (отработка новых слов), лексическая подготовка. (3 мин.)

3. Развитие навыков диалогической речи - беседа: учитель задает вопросы о выборе современного молодого человека, об иерархии ценностей. (5 мин.)

4. Развитие навыков аудирования (задание на речевую догадку «Who was the hero?»). (2 мин.)

5. Развитие навыков чтения (чтение учащимися текста про себя с целью извлечения определенной информации - поисковое чтение). (5 мин.)

6. Отработка навыков подготовленной монологической речи (выполнение различных упражнений к текстам (с опорами). (10 мин.)

7. Репродуктивные упражнения (без опор). (7 мин.)

8. Подведение итогов урока. Выставление отметок. (3 мин.)

9. Домашнее задание (сбор материала к презентации, характеристика профессиональных и личных качеств выбранного героя). (2 мин.)

Ход урока

1.

-Good morning! I'm glad to talk to you again. Hope you are full of energy and everybody is eager to work. I know young people seek ways to express themselves. How do they do it?

(go in for sports, dance, spend time in training in weight lifting, join the army, help others, learn art, etc).

• There are authorities in every sphere of life, their experience s very important for modern boys and girls. They are people who inspire us, the examples to follow. So put down out today's topic "Examples to inspire us", mind the date, please.

Our today's task is to see what is absolutely necessary for a person in the profession if he or she wants to be good at it. Our discussion will show what it is like to be number one in the career and what is really necessary to be a success in it.

Before we start talking, let's practice in pronunciation of some words. Look at the blackboard, let's read them together. Pay attention to their translation. (На доске кадр№1 презентации со словами и переводом: thoughts - мысли, authorities, recall - вспоминать, inborn dignity - врожденное достоинство, obstacle - препятствие, exploration - освоение, исследование), esteem - оценка, personality - индивидуальность, личность, perfectionist - человек, доводящий все, что он делает, до совершенства, require - требовать).

- Expressing oneself is very important for a person. What other things can be of great value for a young person? (ученики приводят свои примеры) - кадр №2 с опорами:

• What is really important for you at the moment? (ученики выбирают варианты ответов или предлагают свои).

• I see you choices, thank you and now I'd like to share some personal moments with you. There are some people whom I admire greatly. One of them is my father. When I'm unhappy or frustrated I just recall how strong and courageous he is in all situations. And he always says that he had great teachers, real examples to follow. He used to give me simple advice "Be a personality!" (кадр №3 презентации).

• Тrue, there are so many traits which help us to succeed, let's pay attention to some of them (учащиеся обращаются к материалу по теме "Traits" - Кузовлев 10-11 №1 1),3), стр. 12-13. I want you to use the phrases from this exercise. I think this can help you as well (раздается раздаточный материал IY Person) учащиеся выполняют задания в парах, обсуждая решение задачи ("Be a personality!").

• Now your task is to say what kind of person can succeed in a modern society. Use the schemes for help (кадр №4 презентации) - ученики выбирают опоры и высказываются о наборе качеств, присущих современному человеку.

-Well, now it's clear what typical modern heroes look like.

Задание на антиципацию:

- You see, when my dad was young, even younger than you, a great event happened. The hero of that event inspired my father and millions of other young people to follow his example. The hero was really though and brilliant in many ways. I have a photo of him and I'll show it a bit later. Now I'll read you the extract describing this man, your task is to guess who he is.

«He was just a friendly man, always eith a smile on his face, but at the same time he was extremely courageous and active. He possessed great will-power, many abilities and gifts and besides a good sense of humour. Sergey Pavlovich Korolyov said so:"He had a lucky combination of such traits as natural courage, intelligence, diligence and inborn dignity."

(ученики определяют, что это Гагарин, учитель открывает фото Гагарина и комментирует).

He was our number one in cosmonautics, our pioneer, the world leader in space, now let's finish our today's topic, please put down the final part of the topic:(кадры №5, 6 Yuri Gagarin - pioneer in space)

• Now I want you to learn more about the first cosmonaut. You'll get a small extract from his book written after his first flight into space. Its title is "I see the Earth". Read it and say if it was easy for Yuri Gagarin to become a cosmonaut.

(ученики читают отрывок - разработка Text 1 - учащиеся высказывают свое мнение, было ли легко Гагарину стать космонавтом).

-Now I want you to explain your point of view. Be ready to prove your statements from the text I'll give you for help.

(ученики выбирают варианты в опорах и составляют развернутые высказывания, почему путь Гагарина был/не был легким, используются опоры в раздаточном материале Y).

You see the profession of a cosmonaut is not easy. What hardships did cosmonauts face? I want to listen to your versions about why so many people wanted to start this career. I hope this information will be of some help for you (раздаточный материал, текст №2)

- учащиеся читают и находят запрашиваемый материал.

-So, this profession is really uneasy and I wonder why so many people dreamt and plenty are still dreaming about space flights. (ученики объясняют, почему многие хотели стать космонавтами - опора кадр №7, ЛСС на доске:

• Gagarin was one of the best not only in space but he was great in many ways, let's find the reasons. I want you to answer the following questions to explain why so. (Кадр 8- опорный план (вопросы).

Учащиеся рассказывают, почему Гагарин был не только великим космонавтом, но и многогранным человеком.

-Now let's sum up some moments of our today's talk. Be ready to explain, what people are usually successful in space industry. Is it enough to be talented to succeed? Учащиеся делают развернутые высказывания по вопросам слайда.

Thank you for the work. Let's conclude it. Gagarin's example shows how much a person can do if he or she has a motivation, works hard and the aims are humane, if he or she is open to new ideas and is eager to explore. Then he or she can be a great success and people can call such person number one, a real example to follow and he will continue inspiring people of next generations. (учитель подводит итоги, выставляет отметки).

Your home task is to find facts about any great person to make a presentation, be ready to say how you see his/her personality and why you think he is great and able to inspire people.
