Урок по английскому языку на тему Традиции англоговорящих стран

Тема: «Традиции англоговорящих стран».

Цели урока:

образовательные:

- Введение новых лексических единиц, развитие умения их использования в речевой деятельности;

- создать условия для отработки навыков поискового чтения, говорения, письма;

- расширить общий кругозор обучающихся по теме данной теме.

развивающая:

- содействовать формированию самостоятельной познавательной деятельности обучающихся;

- развивать иноязычную языковую компетенцию (способность обучающихся использовать полученную информацию в различных ситуациях).

воспитательные:

- способствовать развитию культуры взаимоотношений при работе в группе и парах;

- воспитать потребность в практическом использовании иностранного языка в сфере учебной деятельности, привитие чувства толерантности к стране изучаемого языка.

Задачи урока:

1. Развивать и совершенствовать лексические навыки по теме «Традиции англо-говорящих стран».

2. Обеспечить тренировку лексики по теме урока.

3. Расширить знания обучающихся в области страноведения по данной теме.

4. Активизировать навыки монологической и диалогической речи.

Оборудование: компьютер, маркерная доска, раздаточный материал, политическая карта мира, карточки с названиями стран, эмблемы и флаги англо-говорящих стран.

Тип урока: комбинированный.

Виды речевой деятельности: говорение, аудирование, чтение, письмо.

Методы: проектный, объяснительно-иллюстративный, репродуктивный, частично-поисковый.

. Формы работы: коллективная, в парах, индивидуальная.

Ход урока:

1. Организационный момент (3 мин).

Good morning, students. I'm glad to see you at our lesson. The topic of our lesson is "Customs of English- speaking countries". Today we shall find out what English- speaking people think about their countries. I hope the lesson will be interesting, let's start.

2. Речевая зарядка (5 мин)



Let's revise some more facts. Answer my questions.

• When is St. Patrick's day celebrated? (On the 17^th of March)

  What is the symbol of the holiday (Shamrock)

  What is the popular color of that day? (green)

• What English holidays do you know?

Введение страноведческой информации:

1. Просмотр презентации на тему «Традиции англоговорящих стран».

Look at the screen. (5 мин).

2. Выступления обучающихся: (15 мин).

- We'll travel to Canada first. Find the emblem and the flag of this country and put it on the board. (обучающийся находит, прикрепляет эмблему и флаг под названием данной страны на доску) Here is the emblem and the flag of Canada. Here is a boy from Canada. Listen to him and try to ask questions about this country after his story. (докладчик рассказывает о Канаде, ребята задают вопросы)

- The next traveling is to the USA. Find the emblem and the flag of this country and put it on the board. (Прикрепить эмблему на доску). (Учащийся рассказывает о США, остальные задают вопросы о США)

- And the last stop is in Australia. Find the emblem and the flag of this country and put it on the board. (Прикрепить эмблему на доску). (Учащийся рассказывает об Австралии, остальные задают вопросы)

- We continue our traveling. Let's stop. The United Kingdom is here. Who can find the emblem and the flag of this country and put it on the board? (Прикрепить эмблему на доску, учащиеся задают вопросы). (Выступает докладчик).

Every country has its own holidays. They reflect the history of the country and its cultural and religious traditions. Some religious holidays are common in different countries. They are Christmas and Easter.



Americans celebrate Christmas on the 25^th of December. They buy a lot of presents for each other, for their parents, children and friends.



The New Year's day, the 1^st of January is not so widely celebrated in the United States as we do it in Russia.



Of course, the most important holiday in America is the 4^th of July, The Independence Day. People like to watch colorful fireworks in the evening. The 4^th of July is the day-off and people don't go to work.



The holidays when people don't go to work are: Martin Luther King's day on the 20^th of January, Labor Day on the 7^th of September and Thanksgiving on the last Friday of November. On Thanksgiving Americans usually eat turkey. This holiday reminds the time when the first colonists (pilgrims) from England came to America in 1620 and could survive in the unknown land. There is still a big white stone on the shore in Plymouth in Massachusetts, that the pilgrims landed on'. It is called «The Plymouth Rock ».
