Good afternoon, our dear friends! We welcome you here! I think, everyone will agree that Christmas and New Year are our favourite holidays.
At Christmas play and make good cheer,
For Christmas comes but once a year.
First I want to welcome 10 A class students _________________________, ________________________ and ______________________ and their poem "The Months".
January brings the snow,
Makes our feet and fingers glows.
February brings the rains,
Thaws the frozen lake again.
March brings breezes sharp and chill,
Shakes the dancing daffodil.
April brings the primrose sweet,
Scatters daisies at our feet.
May brings flocks of pretty lambs,
Sporting round their fleecy dams.
June brings tulips, lilies, rose,
Fills the children's hands with posies.
Hot July brings thunder-showers,
Apricots, and gilly-flowers.
August brings the sheaves of corn;
Then the harvest home is borne.
Warm September brings the fruit;
Sportsmen then begin to shoot.
Brown October brings the pheasant,
Then to gather nuts is pleasant.
Dull November brings the blast-
Hark! the leaves are whirling fast.
Cold December brings the sleet,
Blazing fire, and Christmas treat.
December…it is the month of snow, beautiful frosty weather and snowflakes falling everywhere. Let's listen to three beautiful poems about snowflakes, reciting by the 8A students _______________ and _____________________ and a 9K student ____________________.
So softy came the snowflakes down
That no one heard in all the town.
And right-side up they landed too,
As parachuting elves would do.
So when the morning came - surprise!
The world lay white before your eyes.
With cotton roof and hills a-blur
And avenues of rabbit fur
Snowflakes spill from heaven's hand
Lovely and chaste like smooth white sand.
A veil of wonder laced in light
Falling Gently on a winters night.
Graceful beauty raining down
Giving magic to the lifeless ground.
Each snowflake like a falling star
Smiling beauty that's spun afar.
Till earth is dressed in a robe of white
Unspoken poem the hush of night.
When windows are frosty
And icy in places
I like to write letters,
Or draw funny faces,
Or flowers or houses
Or maybe a cat -
I really wish windows
Were always like that!
As we know, British people celebrate Christmas in the end of December. It is the time of magic, the time of wonders. And first comes Christmas Eve. So, what is it? I think, the 9M class students _________________________ and __________________________ will tell us.
Christmas eve.
"Oh! Oh! Oh! Look at the snow,
Over the garden way.
So deep and so white,
It has fallen all night;
We cannot go out to-day!"
Christmas.
It's getting near to Christmas
So let's help Santa pack!
And all the toys for girls and boys
Into his great big sack.
Soldiers are you ready?
Then march round one, two, three!
What lovely Christmas presents
We know you're going to be!
So, at last it's Christmas! Christmas has come! What a merry holiday it is! The following poems will show us the cheerful magical atmosphere of it.
So now has come our joyful feast
Let every man be jolly
Each room with ivy leaves is dressed
And every post with holly
Let all the streets with echoes ring
Woods, and hills, and everything
Bear witness, we are merry
It's Christmas time around the world,
You'll hear the Yule bells ring.
It's time for giving, time for love,
It's time for hearts to sing.
Merry Christmas to you one and all,
Goodwill and happiness,
Good health throughout the coming year,
May all your days be blessed.
Its Christmas time again
The season of renewal
Love, faith, charity
And all that is beautiful
Chimes greatly in to every heart
Beating in celebrations
Of Spirit, togetherness, and affirmation.
Who is the main and the most important hero of Christmas? Of course, it is Santa Claus. What do we know about him? My fellow-students _________________
_____, _______________________and _____________________ will tell us about Santa Claus.
1. Who's got the beard that's long and white?

Special night, beard that's white -
Must be Santa, must be Santa,
Must be Santa, Santa Claus.
2. Who's got boots and suit of red?

Who wears a long cap on his head?

3. Who's got a great big cherry nose?

Special night, beard that's white -
Must be Santa, must be Santa,

And who is the hero of our Russian New Year? Yes? It's Father Frost. I welcome the 9M class student __________________________ to tell us about him.
Father Frost.
Father Frost, bring many toys
For little girls and little boys!
In winter when fields are white.
In winter, when the fields are white,
I sing this song for your delight.
In spring, when woods are getting green,
I'll try and tell you what I mean.
In summer, when the days are long,
Perhaps you'll understand the song.
In autumn, when the leaves are brown,
Take a pen and ink, and write it down.
Yes, New Year is Russian most popular holiday. All children and all grown-ups love it very much. And to finish our festival lesson, let's welcome the 11A class student __________________________ and the 9M class student ______________________________.
Tinkle, tinkle, tinkle! Happy winter-time!
Baby's eyes a-twinkle, hear the sleigh-bells chime!
Each one rings a merry ting-a-ling-a-ling!
For a sleigh-bell fairy hides inside to sing.
See them quake and quiver, up and downward tossed,
Seems as if they shiver in the nipping frost!
Shiver into laughter, jolly little elves!
Till we laugh thereafter, merry as themselves!
New Year.
New things to learn, new friends to meet.
New songs to sing, new books to read.
New things to see, new things to hear.
New things to do in this New Year!
New Year Day
New Year Day, happy day!
We are all glad and very gay.
We all dance and sing and say:
"Welcome! Welcome! New Year Day!"
And now we want to thank all of you, who came here to celebrate this holiday, and to congratulate you and wish you all the luck and happiness in the world.
May you have the gladness of Christmas
which is hope;
The spirit of Christmas
which is peace;
The heart of Christmas
which is love.
