Методическая разработка урока «Достопримечательности Лондона» может быть использована на занятиях английского языка для учащихся 9-11 классов и в учреждениях среднего профессионального образования на базе основного общего образования





































































Цели урока:

Развивающие: развитие интереса к культуре страны изучаемого языка

- развитие мотивации к изучению иностранного языка

Воспитательные: воспитание толерантного отношения к культуре, традициям страны изучаемого языка

Образовательные: знакомство с памятниками архитектуры, историческими деятелями страны изучаемого языка

- расширение знаний о стране изучаемого языка

Практические: - дальнейшее развитие речевой, языковой и социокультурной

компетенции













Задачи урока:

- обучение чтению с извлечением информации

1 A bridge over the river Thames. It opens to let tall boats pass underneath. This bridge was built in the 19th century over the River Thames close to the Tower of London, from which it takes its name. It has become an iconic symbol of London. The bridge consists of two towers tied together at the upper level by means of two horizontal walkways. 2 A famous department store in Knightsbridge. The store has over 330 departments making it the biggest department store in Europe. Its motto is Omnia Omnibus Ubique-All Things for All People, Everywhere. Several of its departments, including the seasonal Christmas department and the Food Hall, are world famous. 3 A square as a public space and tourist attraction in central London, built around the area formerly known as Charing Cross. At its centre is Nelson's Column, which is guarded by four lion statues at its base. The square is also used for political demonstrations and community gatherings, such as the celebration of New Year's Eve. 4 "… Garden" - a district in London in the eastern part of the West End, between St. Martin's Lane and Drury Lane. It is associated with the former fruit and vegetable market in the central square, now a popular shopping and tourist site, and the Royal Opera House, which has the same name. 5 A large Ferris Wheel situated on the banks of the Thames. It is also known as the Millennium wheel. It is the tallest Ferris wheel in Europe, and the most popular paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom, visited by over 3.5 million people annually. It provides the highest public viewing point, and is the 20th tallest structure, in London. 6 The palace as the official London residence and principal workplace of the British monarch. Located in the City of Westminster, the palace is a setting for state occasions and royal hospitality. It has been a focus for the British people at times of national rejoicing and crisis. 7 A wax museum in London with branches in a number of major cities. It was founded by wax sculptor Marie Tussaud and was former named after her. It is a major tourist attraction in London, displaying waxworks of historical and royal figures, film stars, sports stars and infamous murderers. 8 A park in central London through which the river Serpentine runs. In the 16th century it was enclosed as a deer park and remained a private hunting ground. In 1637 it was opened to the general public. It is one of the Royal Parks of London, famous for its Speakers' Corner. 9 A nickname for the great bell of the clock at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London, and often extended to refer to the clock and the clock tower, officially named Elizabeth Tower. The tower was completed in 1858 and has become one of the most prominent symbols of both London and England, often in the establishing shot of films set in the city.
