Theme of the lesson: "How much is it?"

The aim of the lesson:

  • Educational - to revise the words about the food, to revise grammar theme "Pronouns much, many, some, any", to introduct the lexic about the food.

  • Developmental - to develop pupils ability to speak grammaticaly right, to develop pupils' interest to the subject, to develop pupils' mind and memory.

  • Pedagogical - to teach children to listen to each other.

The type of the lesson: Combined lessons.

Methods of the lesson:

Illustrative, practical, oral, work with the book.

Materials: phonetical warming-up, cards, pictures.


The lesson.

I. The beginning of the lesson.

1. Organizational moment.

  • The greeting.

  • The aims of the lesson:


"The theme of our lesson is "How much is it?". We shall devide into teams and you will have different tasks with the words, and pronouns".


2. Speech warming-up.

  • Answer the questions. (with the ball)


What date is it today?

What day of the week is it today?

What is your favourite drink?

What is your favourite fruit?

What is your favourite food?


3. Phonetic warming-up.

  • Reading of the teacher.

  • Translation.

  • Name all the words with the sound.

  • Reading in choroes of the words with the sound.

  • Reading of the whole phonetic warming-up with the teacher.

  • Reading of the pupils.

  • Say it by heart.

II. The main part of the lesson.

  1. The class is devided by the cards with a written number of teams: 1 and 2.

    • They take these cards from the box. Open the card and sit down at the table with the number of the team.


  1. Checking hometask: The revision of the lexic.

  • Make the words of the letters. Use the transcrition.

  • After making words. Each team must read and translate the word.

  4. [`sapǝ] - supper

  5. [o:dǝ] - order

  6. [`sӕlǝd] - salad


  • Draw the word. And everybody will guess about the word.

  1. The revision of the grammar theme pronouns "much, many".

  • Write down as many nouns about the food as you can for a minute which can be used with the much and many.
