Цели и задачи:
-
провести практику речевой деятельности, активизировать лексику на тему "Holidays", дать знания страноведческого характера, познакомить учащихся с традициями Англии и Америки;
-
повысить мотивацию учащихся к изучению иностранного языка;
-
развить творческую фантазию и инициативу в осуществлении иноязычной речевой деятельности, а так же развития познавательных интересов учащихся;
-
воспитывать у учащихся чувство уважения к истории к культуре страны изучаемого языка.
Ход мероприятия:
Ведущий: Dear friend, we'd like to present you British holidays! What are some of them? How British people celebrate them and so on! Let's start our presentation…
Penokio: Wait, wait, wait! What is going on here? Are you going to celebrate without me, Penokio? Do you know I'm very curious?
Ведущий: Ok Penokio! Let's start together. The first holiday is St. Valentines Day. It is celebrated on the 14th of February. It is the day when boys and girls, sweethearts and lovers, husbands and wives, friends and neighbours exchange greetings of affection.

Ведущий: The next holiday is very important, because on the 26th of March all children make presents to their mothers and help them about the house.

Penokio: Dear friend, and do you know any ancient holidays?
Ведущий: Of course! You know, that British people believe in God and each second Monday in October they celebrate Thanksgiving Day, they want to say thank you to God for all food.

K for kitchen, kettles' croon, kith and kin expected soon.
S for sizzles, sights, and sounds, and something special that abounds.
Penokio: Well, I will also say thank you God for everything, even for my pretty nose! (показывает на нос).
Ведущий: Penokio, I'd like to tell you about Easter, It's a very interesting tradition in Britain, unlike Ukraine people play games during this holiday, for example, "Egg rolling", look at our guys!

Ведущий: Penokio, I see you like fun and what is your favorite holiday?
Penokio: My favourite holiday is Christmas because Britain is very beautiful at these days. People decorate Christmas tree, present special presents to each other and Christmas cards, cook turkey and the whole country is full of fun, love and happiness.
Ведущий: Very soon we are going to celebrate Christmas! Let's sing a traditional song "Jingle bells"
