Урок 3 по теме "Geography and travelling"

Тип урока: урок изучения нового материала и первичного закрепления с практической отработкой умений и навыков.

Дидактическая цель: создать условия для осознания и осмысления блока учебной информации, ее применения в учебной ситуации.

Триединая дидактическая цель:

Образовательный аспект: совершенствование навыков говорения, умений читать текст с извлечением основной информации.

Развивающий аспект: развитие языковых способностей и устойчивого интереса к изучению английского языка, развитие интеллектуальных способностей (памяти, мышления), навыков рефлексии.

Воспитательный аспект: воспитание активности в решении коммуникативных задач, формирование потребности в анализе собственной деятельности на уроке, к сотрудничеству и взаимопомощи при работе в парах, группе.

Задачи: обогащение и активизация словарного запаса.

Оборудование: презентация, карточки с заданиями, опоры с предложениями по теме

Ход урока

1.Организационный момент

T: Good morning, children. I'm glad to see you. What is the date today? What is the weather like today? How are you today? How do you feel today?

P1: I feel satisfaction/ bored/ fear etc… (Slide # 2)


2.Введение в тему урока

T: look at these photos and try to guess our theme. What are we going to speak about?

P1: the theme is travelling.

T: So we'll get acquainted with… P2: We'll get acquainted with …. P3: We'll learn…

T: today at the lesson you'll work in pairs, groups and your own work at each step of the lesson you will evaluate yourselves.

T: Let' start our lesson with the poem "Travelling"

I like to ride in railway train

Through tunnels dark and wide.

Over the bridges crossing the river,

I feel so safe inside.

When water looks very smooth,

I like to sail by ships or boat.

A sea voyage is very good,

When you feel a sea breeze blows.


T: Answer the questions. Do you like to travel by train? And why? P4: Yes, I do. Because …..

T: Do you like to travel by ships or boat? Why? P5: Yes, I do. Because …..

3. Активизация лексических единиц в устной речи.

a) T: I want to know if you like travelling. P6, do you like travelling?

P6: Yes, I do. I like it a lot.

T: Where would you like to go? P7: I would like to go to the seaside. P8: I would like to go to the mountains.

T: How can you travel? Can you travel by car? (Картинки слайд №2)

P1: I can travel by car. P2: I can travel by plane. P3: I can travel by train. P4, P5, P6, etc…

(За каждый правильный ответ учащиеся получают жетон)

b) Развитие речевых навыков (2 мин)

T: Why do people travel? Give your reason. P1: They travel because they want to see/ to meet/ to discover etc…

c) T: If I had a chance to travel by plane, I would visit Paris, it is in France. I will take my Mom with me.

Tell me about it. Do it in pairs. P1-P2, P3-P4, P5-P6 etc..


d) Now work in groups. The task is to make up sentences. G 1 - by plane, G 2 - by train, G 3 - by ship.( 2 min)

Group 1 (Moscow to London)

I like to travel by … plane.

It's so … fast

But the tickets are very … expensive.

We often fly from Sheremetyevo … airport.

Travelling by plane is … fantastic.


Group 2 (London to Paris)

I like to travel by … train.

It is very … comfortable.

The tickets are… cheap.

You can see …when we travel by train. rivers, plains, mountains.

We buy tickets at the … station.

Group 3 (Paris to Ottawa) Ответы на отдельном листочке.

I like to travel by … sea.

It/s so… wonderful.

I like to spend my holidays at the … seaside.

We enjoy fresh air, clean water, the sun, birds.

You can see… when you travel. fish, dolphins, different countries.


4. Релаксация . T: Are you tired, my dears? I see you are tired. I'm tired, too. We like dancing. Let's dance. (Students dance)

5. Работа с текстом. Транспорт в Лондоне.

T: In London there are different kinds of transport but the bus is the most famous of them all over the world. Open your books at page 119 ex.1. You will read the text but first look at the words on this sheet of paper.

T: Each group will read definitions and you'll match then to the words.

a) Write guessing words.

b) Read the text about the London bus again and do true false sentences.

d) A long-distance bus is more expensive

e) Nowadays the top deck of a bus is open

f) People don't like when somebody jumps the queue

g) Smoking isn't allowed inside.

c) Now tell me what you have learnt about transport in London.

6. Активизация лексико-грамматического материала. Герундий.

T: If you want to travel abroad successfully, you are to know English words perfectly. Let's try to brush up them. Make up sentences. Look at the screen. Work in pairs. (2 min)

P3: I look forward to …..

T: Open your books, p.221, Ex. 5.. Как образуется Герундий?

7. Рефлексия. Подведение итогов урока.

T: T: Thank you, my dears! We've done everything perfectly. I'm very pleased with you. So our guests will know how to travel and which way of traveling is the best one.

Now count your scores! How many scores have you got? So, your mark is a 5.

T: How did you feel at the lesson and why?

P1: I felt satisfaction because I worked hard and got an excellent mark.

P2: I felt happiness because I….etc.

T: So, we practiced grammar, vocabulary, your pronunciation. Some more lessons will be devoted to the same topic traveling. You'll enrich your knowledge of English. To tell the truth, it was pleasure to work with you today.
