Путешествие в Лондон

Класс: 5а,б.

Цели урока:

  1. Активизация лексики по теме ,развитие логического мышления, умения анализировать, внимания, коммуникативных навыков, привитие интереса к стране изучаемого языка.

Оборудование: Презентация Power Point, компьютер, проектор.

  1. Орг. момент.

Teacher: Good morning, friends! Glad to see you! Sit down, please.

Students: Good morning, teacher!

Teacher: Today we'll have an unusual lesson. We have a special guest today. Let's look (slide 1). Do you know this man? Could you help Mr. Holmes?

Students: Yes, we could.

Teacher: Then, let's start. You need to make 2 teams and to choose a leader. Then your first task is "Introduction"(slide 2). Mr. Holmes would like to know some information about his assistants.

Учащиеся работают в группе, выбирают капитана своих команд, название, готовят первое задание.

Teacher: Oh, look! We have a first task from Mr. Holmes. (slide 3) You need to find the name of this country. You have only 1 minute to do it.

Ученики расшифровывают название страны.

Teacher: I see, you're ready. What country is it? And who knows what the full name of the country is?

Students: the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Teacher: Yes, you're right. It's the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. This country is in Europe and it has 4 different countries in it: Scotland, England and Wales, Northern Ireland. (slide 4) Do you know any cities of this beautiful country? Let's see! (slide 5). They are puzzles. I think you'll like them.

T.: Well, my friends, and now we'll see how well you know London. Get ready to answer the questions on the cards.

Questions:

  1. What is the capital of Great Britain?

  2. Where does the Queen live?

  3. Where can you see the White Tower and the Bloody Tower?

  4. On what river does London stand?

  5. Big Ben is a part of the famous building. What is the name of this building?

  6. What is the symbol of London and the place of all British Kings' and Queens' coronation?

( Капитаны команд отвечают на вопросы на карточках.)

Teacher: Look! There is a letter from Mr. Holmes. Oh, but it is spoiled (испорченный). (Slide 6) If you want to read it you need to fill in the gaps.

Let's read these words. (slide 7-9)

Ученики прослушивают слова, повторяют их за учителем, прочитывают индивидуально.

Teacher: Great! Now, fill in the gaps, please.

Учащиеся читают текст письма, вставляют глаголы в нужной форме.

Teacher: Now, let's try to read this letter. Well done!

Teacher: Great job! Your next task is to solve the crossword puzzle. And then you find that place, which is one of the most popular in London. (slide 11). Let's look what place it is. (slide12)


Teacher:our country is prepairing for celebration of the 70th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War. Very soon a new gallery will open in the London museum. It is devoted to the history of London in the war time. During the war London was bombed heavily. You can see in the videos how it was. Can you recognize the places in the films? ( Trafalgar Square, Tower of London ,Buckingham palace)

Teacher: now it's time to know who the winner is. So, the winner is the … team. Congratulations! But the next team works hard too and Mr. Holmes and I decided to give certificates to both teams. (slide 13).
