YOUTH SUBCULTURES IN BRITAIN

Young people have a particular relationship with the world. There are many groupings (subcultures) that have interests different from those of the mainstream culture. A particular cultural grouping is a way for young people to express their individuality.

At the beginning of 70s teenagers had begun to form distinct cultural groupings. Most young people in Britain follow some kind of youth culture: rockers, hackers, ravers, skinheads, hippies, goths, punks, bikers, emos, diggers, neformals, hip-hop, football hooligans, scouts, gamers, religious subcultures, environmentalists, hackers, volunteers etc. A subculture is a way of life. It isn't a fan club, it's a real life. It seems to them that the parents are always saying: No! That everything about them: their hair, their music, clothes, the way they talk, their dreams are considered bad by grown-ups. The young people are unsure of where they are going. Often young people do something not because they want to do it. They do things because everybody around does or because they think it's impolite to refuse.

The inspiration to form a youth culture comes out of a combination of fashion, style and music. A subculture is a group with a distinct style and identity. Different subcultures have their own beliefs, values, fashions. Members of different subcultures may have something similar in their image, behavior etc. Subculture is the culture of those who are dissatisfied with their place in society. Youth has a lot of problems wherever it lives. On the one hand it is the problem of education - how to get a good one and that which will be necessary and worth in the future. The other problem is the problem of a good job with a good salary. It is not an easy thing to find one now. One should be a very good specialist for that.

Teenagers are often influenced by so-called "bad guys" and begin to smoke, take drugs and drink. They do not listen to their parents. But this problem is solvable and parents should be a little more attentive to their children and correct their behaviour where possible.

YOUTH SUBCULTURES IN Russia

In Russia in 2008 there were 62 federal and interregional youth and children organizations which were officially registered.

Besides such organizations there are different groups and subgroups with special interests like in many countries. At the beginning of 90s the first subcultures appeared in the USSR. On a tacit consent teenagers began to "be fenced off" from adults by clothes, attributes, slang, manners and morals, for as were exposed to condemnation. Then teenage groupings also have started to divide on dissocial, antisocial etc.

Football fans consider as the subculture close to criminal. It is aggravated with that fans - one of the most active teenage groups in Russia.

Punks, hippie, bikers, goth carried to dissocial: they did not represent threat to a society, but also to the general norms of behaviour did not submit. Antisocial teenage groupings which had aggressive character named, affirming at the expense of others.

Among the Russian teenage communities the grouping hip-hopers has appeared for a long time and, probably, for a long time.

Tolkienists. This movement was born thanks to hobby of youth for role games with numerous characters from John Ronald Rouela Tolkien books "Hobbit", «the Lord of rings» and «Silmarrion».
