Открытый урок по теме «Страна изучаемого языка: географическое положение, части страны, климат, символы».

Основные задачи: 1) учить читать текст с извлечением необходимой информации;

2) учить рассказывать о стране изучаемого языка, её географическом положении, частях страны, климате, символах;

3) учить писать небольшое сочинение, используя полученную информацию.

Оборудование: видеофильмы, компьютерная презентация, картинки, компьютер, проектор; костюм эксперта: очки, квадратная шляпа, мантия.

На доске: island, include, all day long, fog, ocean.

Ход урока.

  1. Начало урока.

Уч-ся читает стихотворение "So many countries all over the world"

Starter: видеофильм о Великобритании.

T: So what is our theme today? What will we talk about? Yes, our theme is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

What should we do to elicite it?

Should we read? Of course!

Will we listen to the texts? Yes, we will.

Would we speak about that country?

Will we write anything? Certainly, we will.

Do you understand the theme? Do you agree with it? Do you agree with our tasks? Are you ready to begin? So we do.

  1. Эксперт: "To keep a stiff upper lip" is American origin and began in 1800's. When a person is upset, his lips usually tremble. The men of those times had mouctashes and it was more visible. So it was difficult not to show their emotions or "to keep a stiff upper lip".

Brainstorm: what do you think of when you hear about the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland?

Today we have guests. They are the members of the International Explorers' Club, Nikita and Olivia. You are welcome!

Olivia: What do you think of when you hear the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland?

Nikita: First of all, I imagine Big Ben. But what exactly is it?

Olivia: It is a tower with the clock. Its height is 96.3 metres. They show the exact time since 1859.

Nikita: Sounds fantastic! I know that the head of the state is Queen Elizabeth II. Why so?

Olivia: Yes, the Royal family is the greatest symbol of the country. The monarch is really the Queen. And her eldest son is given the title: "Prince of Wales".

Nikita: Now I see. And why do they call England "Albion"?

Expert: as the history says when the Romans first saw England they called those white chalk cliffs and the land behind them "Albion". It means "White Land". Since those times Albion is the poetic name of England.

Nikita: That's great! Well, I saw the red busses on TV. What are they?

Olivia: Oh, they are the most famous British transport! There are also open-top double-decker busses. They are a very good for seeing London's sights.

Nikita: SO I see that country is worth visiting and seeing! Thank you very much!

Olivia: You are welcome!

T: and, of course, the symbols of the United Kingdom are the old castles. Look at them, please!

But British climate is not really all rain and fog. Their climate is very changeable.

  1. Домашнее задание: стр.84, упр.40 написать небольшое сочинение о Соединённом Королевстве Великобритании и Северной Ирландии, включив в него всё, что узнали и запомнили на уроке.

  2. Подведение итогов урока. Рефлексия. Now I can:

  3. Speak about the climate of than country;
