The Course of the Lesson.

  1. Org. moment.

Answer the questions

  • When do you usually get up?

  • When do you usually have breakfast?

  • When do you usually have lunch?

  • Do you wash your face in the morning?

  • Do you wash your hands before breakfast?

  • What do you usually do in the morning?

  1. Oral speech.

1."What I usually do in the morning."

(Pupils tell about their usual mornings. While speaking they are watching the presentation "My Day")

2. Poem "What Does the Clock Say." Ex.7p.62

a) Pupils listen to the poem O 19

b) Some pupils recite the poem.

III. Grammar drills.

The Present Continuous Tense.

  1. Explanation of the rules of forming this tense.

  2. Add endings to the verbs.

Pupils must add ending -ing to the verbs coming out to the blackboard.

  1. Tell what they are doing using the pictures.

Pupils make up sentences in Present Continuous Tense.

  1. Fill in the gaps.

Pupils work in the handouts completing the text with the missing verbs is,are,am. One of the pupils works on the blackboard.

(It's seven o'clock in the morning. Sally Brown …getting up. Her brothers …doing exercises. Her father …cleaning his teeth. But Sally doesn't know what her mother …doing. She says: " Mum, what …you doing? " Her mother answers: "I …having breakfast.")

  1. Text.

1. Read and translate the text "Flop", part I.

2. Retelling of the text.

Pupils get the handouts containing sentences for the retelling of the text. Each pupil has one sentence. The children are given several minutes to learn their sentences. Then the teacher reads the sentences in correct order. Pupils come out to the blackboard according to this order and stand in a row. After that children retell the text sentence by sentence.

  1. The frog lives in a lake.

2. He is a big green frog.

3. The frog's name is Flop.

4. Flop has got two friends.

5. Their names are Polly and Chat.

6. Flop can't tell the time.

7. Polly can tell the time.

8. At eight o'clock Flop does exercises.

9. Then he takes a shower and swims in a lake.

10. Then the three friends have breakfast.

11. After breakfast they play games.

12. They have a good time.)
