The theme: Step 4 Table manners

The objectives of the lesson:

Educational aims:

  1. to teach pupils to know the manners at the table.

  2. to teach them to find the words and expressions in any situation.

  3. to enrich their lexics by new words on the given theme.

Developing aims:

  1. to develop pupils' abilities in speaking through pair work.

  2. to develop their creative abilities through different kinds of activities.

  3. to develop their speech speaking about table manners.

Bringing - up aims:

  1. to bring them up: It is important to know how to set at the table .

  2. to teach them: "to be well-bred and know how to behave at the table".

Methods: individual work, group work, pair work, question-answer.

Visual aids: the interactive board, slides, a diagram.

The procedure of the lesson

  1. Organization moment.

  • Good afternoon, pupils!

Well, today we have an unusual lesson. I divide the class into 3 groups using the pictures. These smileys I'll give you for marks; "5", "4", "3".

Table manners are Continental - the fork is held in the left hand and the knife in the right while eating.

Some foods are meant to be eaten by hand. Our fathers sit at the top of the table.

If guests come to our house the guests sit at the top of the table (tor). Kazakh's are very hospitable people. And we respect our guests.

V. Practice

I ask some questions about table manners. You will answer them. Match the questions with the answers.

1. What is the correct way to sit at the table?

C Sit straight and close to the table. Don't put your elbows on the table.

2. Do you use your knife or your fork to take a slice of bread from the table?

E Neither. Your hand is quite correct to get a slice of bread for yourself.
