The System of English Tenses

Good afternoon, dear pupils. Glad to see you. How are you? I hope everybody is present. By the way, what date is it today? Today we continue working with the English tenses.

To begin our lesson I want you to read the children's rhyme, where the verbs are used in Past Simple.

Robin the Bobbin, the big fat Ben,

He ate more meat than fourscore men;

He ate a cow, he ate a calf,

He ate a butcher and a half.

He ate a church, he ate a steeple,

He ate the priest and all the people

And yet he complained that his stomach wasn't full.
