Teacher: Hello, boys and girls! Glad to see you again!

Pupils: Hello, glad to see you too!

Teacher: How are you?

Pupils: Fine, thanks. And you?

Teacher: I am well, thank you. Children, today we are going to speak about adjectives. They are very necessary in our life. If there are no adjectives, people's life will be dull. Do you agree with me?

Pupils: Yes, we do.

Teacher: All right. So, I want to start our lesson with a poem:

Bounce, bounce!

It's my ball.

It doesn't want to stop at all.

Green and yellow, blue and red.

It bounces higher than my head.

(T - Cl - P1, P2, P3)

Teacher: Where is the adjective in this poem? What degree is it? Right.

How many degrees do adjectives have? Name them in Russian.

How is the comparative degree built?

How is the superlative degree built? Fine!

We can see adjectives everywhere.

1)Imagine that we are in a store. Let's find them there. Make up dialogues between an assistant and a customer in different departments. Use as many adjectives as you can.

a)clothes department

b)jeans department

c)shoe department

d)toy department

e)camera department

(учащиеся составляют диалоги парами, затем рассказывают вслух)

Thank you. Your dialogues were interesting.

2)Now I want you to look at the pictures. This is a dog and that is a cat. They are funny, aren't they? Compare them, please. These words will help you.

Tall fat strong big fast funny merry

Short thin weak small slow beautiful sad

Thank you, well done!

3)Now, look at the blackboard. Read the sentences, translate them into Russian and put the right degree of comparison.

Shake your head and turn around.

Stamp your feet upon the ground

Clap your hands and then sit down.

5)Now translate my sentences into English.

- Этот дом-самый высокий.

- Я думаю, что твой план лучше.

- Джейн- самая аккуратная девочка в классе (neat).

- Генри-самый старший в семье.

- Киев-более древний город, чем Москва.
