London stands on the river Thames. The population of the city is about 9 million people. It is an ancient city, it is more than 2000 years old. London consists of three parts: the City, The West End and the East End. The City is the heart of London. The City is the most important financial center of the country; there are banks and offices of companies from all over the world there. The West End is the rich. The West End has many theaters, bars, restaurants and hotels. The popular place is Piccadilly Circus. It is a square in the central part of London. Covent Garden is a shopping center with cafes and restaurants. The East End is the poor. In the East End there are many factories and docks.
