Teenage years - do they bring luck or a lot of problems?

Цели урока:

• развивающий аспект - развитие способности оценивать чужое мнение, формулировать выводы, развитие способности к объяснению, выстраиванию последовательности; непроизвольно развиваются такие качества ума, как критичность, логичность и доказательность; Развитие критического мышления через изучение информации, постановку вопросов и выделение проблем, которые необходимо решить;

• воспитательный аспект - воспитание чувства ответственности за совместную работу, формирование умения вести обсуждения, формирование способности к критическому мышлению, развитие умения работать в группе;

• учебный аспект - совершенствование речевых навыков; развитие умения читать/понимать на слух с целью полного понимания и извлечения конкретной информации; антиципировать (предвосхищать/прогнозировать) содержание прочитанного;

• Методическое сопровождение урока: учебник, рабочая тетрадь, карточки с заданиями, аудиокассета, магнитофон.

Ход урока

Организационный момент.

Т: How are you today? Are you ready for our lesson?

1. Фаза вызова. Вступительное слово учителя. Актуализация знаний учащихся.

Every day we hear such words as "a teen", "a teenager". And now let's explain the word "teen". What definitions can you give to the word "a teen"? What is the period of teenage years?

S: As you know the word "teenager" comes from English language. And it means a person who is at the age from 13 to 19.

T: The topic of our lesson today is "Teenage years - do they bring luck or a lot of problems?"

2. Фаза осмысления.

What problems facing young people nowadays can you name?

What associations have you got with a word- "problems"?

• Family problems

• School problems

• Educational problems

• Emotional problems

• Drug addiction

• Violence

• Drinking problems

What are the most important problems for you?

Students' answers.

I think our discussion will help you in solving of some problems. To speak about different problems at the lesson you should use words and word combinations.

Read the glossary and translate the words into Russian.

1. Обучение аудированию.

Let's learn what problems British teens often face. Listen to the dialogue and be ready to answer the questions:

• What is M.Stewart ?- A social worker

• What problems are they speaking about? - About drinking problems among teens.

• What do British teens associate drinking with? - with adulthood

• Do parents always pay much attention to what teens do?- No, they don't

• Where have they tried the first glass of alcohol?- At the parties

• Who should help and care for young people? Parents and adults should.

But not only drinking problems are spread among young people. What other problems are discussed in magazines and newspapers?

Read about them on page 116 in your textbooks.

2. Совершенствование навыков диалогической речи. Работа в группах. Imagine some correspondents from youth magazines would like to make a research about teenage problems. Try to answer their questions.

The first group will answer the questions about relationship between teachers and students, classmates.

The second group will discuss alcohol, smoking, drugs addictions among teens.

The third group will speak about problems between adults and children.

Students have 5 min to prepare for the dialogues.

The leaders of the groups will make a short survey after the interview.

3. Фаза рефлексии. ( размышление, выводы)

1. Обучение чтению с целью извлечения информации.

Read the text "I am a teenager" and write out the bad and good points of being a teenage.

Совершенствование навыков монологической речи.

2. Let's return to the beginning of our lesson. Can you summarize what you have learnt and tell us what your opinion about teenage years is.

Заключительный этап урока.

The teacher estimates the results of the lesson and makes a conclusion.

Homework: p.118-119 (read the text and answer the questions)
