Procedure of the lesson:
I. Organization moment.
-Good afternoon, children! How are you?
- Who is on duty today?
- Who is absent? Thank you, sit down.
II. Checking up the home task:
-
What was your home task? Are you ready? All right, let's start. Read your stories one by one. Very good! Let's check up your exercises. Any volunteers?
-
Presentation of the lesson:
-
Today we will continue this theme. First of all I want you to answer my questions:
-
Do you like holidays?
-
Which holiday do you like the most?
-
What do you do on holidays?
-
And what you don't do?
-
There are few people who read on holidays. How do you think why? How many books have you read? Which book do you really want to read? Ok, that's enough. I want you to write down everything you know about popular genre of the books and don't forget to write why you think so. You have only 5 minutes.
-
Your time is off. Please read what you have written. Please don't disturb or comment each others' opinions. We are al friends and we have to remember that everyone has his own thought according to one thing. And they are never the same.
-
Practice:
-
Your task is to write a "cinquains". You have to write 1 noun, 2 adjectives, 3 verbs, phrase that consists of only 4 words and shows your attitude to this theme and 1 synonym to first one. Is it clear to you? Then start.
-
Now I'll divide you into 4 groups and you have to imagine yourselves as authors. You with your group will come to the blackboard and present your new book. You have to say us what the name of the book is, what it is about, who wrote which part and so on. And other will be interviewers and they'll ask authors some questions. You have to use present simple and future simple in your speech. Who wants to remind others what are those? We use the Simple Present to express the idea that an action is repeated or usual. The action can be a habit, a hobby, a daily event, a scheduled event or something that often happens. It can also be something a person often forgets or usually does not do. Simple Future has two different forms in English: "will" and "be going to." Although the two forms can sometimes be used interchangeably, they often express two very different meanings. These different meanings might seem too abstract at first, but with time and practice, the differences will become clear. Both "will" and "be going to" refer to a specific time in the future. Both "will" and "be going to" can express the idea of a general prediction about the future. Predictions are guesses about what might happen in the future.
-
Rest minute:
- Now let's play the game. It is called "Wrong position". I need one pupil to close his eyes. But before this he has to look very attentively at 3 girls. When he will close his eyes, girls will change their positions. Then that boy has to remember and fix their positions.
-
Production:
-
Very good. Now I'll hand out the text and you'll read it and stop when I say to. I may want ask you some questions.
Haste makes Waste.
A woman had a pet mongoose. It was very faithful. One day she
went to the market, leaving her baby in the care of the mongoose.
At that time a big cobra entered the house. The mongoose killed it
after a long and fierce fight.
When the woman came back she saw the mongoose lying at the
entrance. She noticed its blood-covered mouth.
In her haste the woman thought that the mongoose had killed her
baby. In a moment of sudden fury, the woman threw the water pot on
the mongoose and killed it.
Alas! When she entered the house she was filled with remorse. Her
baby was playing cheerfully.
Nearby a big cobra lay dead. The woman shed tears of grief fondling
the carcass of the mongoose.
MORAL: Do not act in haste.
- Open your books on page 172 and there is a text and the task to act out the dialogue. So work in pairs and do it.
